These could get their own icons.👀

Nice one, author. Though I'm very late on this.😌

Would have to look into implementing a custom icon, I do seem to recall some mod coming around that allowed for adding custom icons but I'd have to do some digging for that.

Genskicc is one of those authors who made icons for quite a few mods already, including weapon types that shared vanilla icons. Perhaps he could help you out.

There's also this collection: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/90508 that you could perhaps make use of.🤔

Of course there's a lot of other things and I don't even know half of them. But hopefully, you can reach your goal.👌🏾

That link does help quite a bit since now I'm aware of the Inventory Injector mod. I've made some custom (albeit unreleased) icons for some of my Fallout 4 mods so making icons will be easy, the only hurdle was implementation, but the Injector solves that angle, I'll just have to see how it works.

Hey, I know its been a while since the last update, but I know how to get proper animaitons for these weapons. Animated armory has some files that let you add animation flags from the mod to weapons from other mods. A simple patch that adds the rapier flag to these items should, in theory, keep the attack speed, but show thrusting animations in first and 3rd person.

hey Dmagus maybe, seeing that theyre stilettos you should put a 20% armor ignoring in them, the main obgetive of the old medieval stilettos was that, they are impresive weapons for my nightblade (mage-rogue) also keep the good work!

I might do that, at least for heavier armors, or a % chance to ignore heavier armor when backstabbing. Armor like fur, hide and leather wouldn't have it though.

They should be better at piercing all types of armor, that's the whole point of them (no pun intended). Not just with backstabbing, but with regular attacks too. It would be great if the attack animations could be changed to more accurately reflect the thrusting style of how they would be used as opposed to the default slashing animations.

Doing less damage than a dagger, but the ability to ignore armor, would make them viable and realistic weapons. I'd actually suggest making them ignore 80% of armor, but do half the damage of a dagger. They really are very effective at piercing almost any type of armor (glass armor would probably be the only exception in game), but obviously the very narrow blade doesn't do much damage unless you hit vital organs. Multiple quick thrusts to an area after piercing the armor can still do substantial damage though.

Here's a good video on the effectiveness of chainmail (which is a light armor in Skyrim). Skip to 10:40 if you don't want to watch the whole thing.

Leather or fur armor would offer virtually no resistance to a thrust with a stiletto. Plate armor would be more effective mainly because of the chance of it deflecting the thrust.

Stilettos already do half or less damage than their dagger counterpart, for example the iron stiletto does only 2 points base compared to the 4 of an iron dagger, but as yet there's no armor piercing factor. It would be nice if there was a way to get a custom thrusting animation in for both 3rd and 1st person restricted to the stilettos, but that's beyond my scope. Still, I do like the idea and will implement it at some point.

It's the Blacktalon armor, don't know if it's been ported to SE though. That might require a bit of Google-fu.

At night it drains health and stamina from your target.
  8. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Dagger sneak attack multi is 3x without perks. However, the Stilettos are meant for sneak attacks but the way the description is worded, it sounds like they only do 1.5x sneak attack damage. How is that done? Is the sneak attack bonus (the multiplier for hitting) 1.5x? Or is it 4.5x, where the sneak attack bonus is 50% more than normal?

The stilettos are still classified as daggers, so they're not exempt from the standard 3x sneak attack damage. Their damage bonus is handled via a separate perk that looks for a custom keyword on the stilettos. So, ultimately, without any perks they do 4.5x sneak attack damage.

Hey so when you say they do more damage is that an in-game thing? You didn't post any screenshots from the actual item in the inventory so I couldn't read in the in-game description without downloading it. I just want to know before I install it if it actually offers a sneak attack bonus. Thanks.

It does. As mentioned in the description, when you sneak attack someone with a stiletto, it deals 1.5x damage to the target, or 2.5x if you're using the silver one and your target is susceptible to silver. In terms of base damage, however, the stilettos are rather weak; they're a notch or two below the vanilla daggers in that regard.
