Heads up that the meshes included here don't include the fixes from Assorted Mesh Fixes! I noticed that during foggy weather the lighting on the moss is strange, but hiding these meshes for the ones from Assorted Mesh Fixes solved the issue.
I was in Morthal near that sick woman on ground. I turned around and saw horrible vanilla hanging moss. My eyes didn't bleed but they hurt for sure. Your mod looks amazing. Thank you
Hello, I'm using the desaturated main file and the remove plant part file but I still seem to be seeing the plant. Is there only supposed to be flat green with no parts/leaves moving in the wind? I have the no plant file overwriting the main file as instructed. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Any help is appreciated.
edit - ok so I see the mod provides a texture for reachgrassobj01 but not reachmoss01 so I guess my question would also be are there some places that use just reachgrassobj01 without reachmoss01 so that I would see the plant even with the remove plant part file? The remove plant part file only removes the plant part in instances where both are showing? Sorry for the long winded post, trying to wrap my head around it.
The reachmoss1-3 are meshes used mostly on the ground or in markarth architecture and dungeons in general. Renthals replacer does not change these models, only the specific meshes found on the side of walls and on mountain rocks. For the reachmoss stuff, I personally use a model from 3D trees mod that I extracted as I don't use the whole mod. There is a screenshot in spoiler tag 2 posts bellow if you want to check it out. I also desaturated the 3D trees texture as all textures from that mod are very cartoony for Skyrim's pallete.
Thanks for the reply! So if I'm using the remove plant part file, I can still expect to see the plant in some places just not on the side of buildings and mountains where the plant and moss are shown together?
"So if I'm using the remove plant part file, I can still expect to see the plant in some places just not on the side of buildings and mountains where the plant and moss are shown together?"
is correct if anyone is wondering. I found definite instances where the plant was present with no flat moss behind it when using the "no plant" optional file, but it was gone on the specific places on the mountains where they would normally show simultaneously. May have been obvious to some, but I've finally got it, lol.
Hi, I installed this in Skyrim VR and noticed a little bit of shimmering. Could it be missing the mipmaps? I resaved it in BC7 format with mipmaps and it's looking much better.
Anyway thanks for the mod, it's really hard to find a replacement for that plant. SFO covers it but it's much uglier.
I recently found that 3D trees and plants replaces that as well with a decent model. I extracted it from the mod files and did some tweaking to the texture to desaturate it a bit because I don't like the cartoon colors of 3D plants, and the result is pretty good. Certainly a lot better than what I uploaded here in terms of quality.
I'm afraid I can't because Mathy doesn't give permissions to upload his files anywhere. If you like this mesh and texture you will need to download 3D trees and extract it from there.. :/
darn :/ well could you give me the name of the textures to extract because im not sure if this is an ivy plant or a moss or whatever. ?t sure is a pain in my ass though. EDIT: you know what forget it. i'll manage thaks for your work it really does help a lot.
If that model is used in riften thats beacuase of some mod add, most probably Trees in the city https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/1941 (in my case that mod was a culprit). Now i'm not using this anymore and i don't have that object in riften. Same in Markhart.
Hehe one forgets what is vanilla and what is modded after all these years Especially when your choice of mods is focused on blending with the base game
Thank you very much. This "something" is only found in the Reach Mountains (luckily, I don't have any mod to add these objects elsewhere). It looks better without the plant, although you can still see all the imperfections up close. hopeless case I suppose :)
