From the file size, it looks like these are 16K textures. Also, the file mountainslab02_mask.dds.hidden has the wrong name and won't work unless renamed. In MO2 you can right-click the mod, select "Information...", then right-click the texture and select "unhide". Now the texture will load into the game. If you use Vortex you'll need to go to the file folder itself and remove ".hidden" from the file name.
Hello, I really love your textures! I grew tired of Majestic Mountain's darkside and lightside was too red for me, these are really really good!
However, there's a couple of issues and I would strongly suggest to: 1. resave the textures in the BC7 compression format, no need to waste VRAM for the same visual (The biggest texture went from ~140 MB uncompressed to ~42MB) 2. mountainslab01_n is not a normal map and is identical to mountainslab01.dds for some reason when it probably should be identical to mountainslab02_n.dds and 3. the biggest issue for me, if possible please tweak mountainslab02_n.dds because it gives the base texture a really weird texture, you can see the issue here https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/images/96087
While these mountains ARE the HD Majestic Mountains upgrade you are looking for-- if you like lightside, which you shouldn't, because it has a really hard time blending into terrain textures-- then these are good.
But this hit my framerate harder than most 8k texture's I've tried.
A patched version of this mod for MM Main would be the mountain mod out.
I'm very interested in the look of this mod -- the concept is great, and I really like what the pictures show.
I could run the textures through CAO for the BC7 compression myself, but I'm not sure what I'd do about the two files you've mentioned here. Is there any chance of fixes for these happening?
These are my go to mountain textures. The mountainslab_02mask texture is for the snow shader. You can delete it or unhide it, doesn't make a big difference.

My fingers are crossed. Thank you!
