Hi! This mod's great but sadly I couldn't make it work. There are NPCs that look really cool, but there are others (Savos, Kraldar, Nelacar, Septimus Signus...) that have the missing face glitch; the one that only displays the hair, the eyes, the teeth and the beards. I tried with the only male.esp and the full version with no results, and I tested it with or without the face discoloration fix, solving issues in SSEDIT and placing it in load order after all the mods it conflicts, with EasyNPC, deactivating the other NPCs mods... but sadly, the glitch was the same. :(
I'd really like to have any advice or read what could I be doing wrong since I really want this to function.
I would guess the face discoloration fix mod is the problem. That mod doesn't work with with NPC mods that were created in Racemenu. My mods also (like most others) don't include the loose files the faces were created from. So in your case I'm guessing the face discoloration fix mod tried to regenerate the faces for those NPCs and the missing head parts were because it attempted to rebuild faces with head parts that weren't there. That's the only way faceparts can be missing, because every NPC in this mod has a pregenerated facegen mesh that includes everything that makes up their face.
Your issue is probably that Face Discoloration fix generated new facegen at runtime and replaced the facegen from my mod. That new facegen from discoloration fix would stay in your game even after uninstalling the Face Discoloration Fix. You would need to completely reinstall my mod after uninstalling Face Discoloration Fix to fix that.
Thank you for your answer! I tried yesterday uninstalling completely both addons (your mod and Face Discoloration Fix) and installing from zero your mod, but the glitch kept going :(. The only choice I had left was to patch the NPCs that gave me problems (Nelacar, Sergius, Savos, Kraldar, Septimus, Thonjolf, etc) with another mod, and keep the ones in your mod that worked right. Nonetheless, with a little more time, i hope to check it out again to see what it's failing in my part. Thank you again for taking the time! :)
Fair point, going from a balding hairstyle to long doesn't make much sense in keeping is close to vanilla. I think I was focused on making NPCs use fewer of the vanilla hairstyles and I didn't have any balding hairstyles at the time.
I have since found some really good balding hairstyles ported from The Witcher 3 that I can put on him when I revisit this release to update it to use the Northbourne resources file.
Yeah, I noticed you use both vanilla and custom hairstyles for the mod, which I really liked. This Arniel appearance just also reminded me that while Modpocalypse NPCs does mostly a decent job as well, it for some reason adds fashionable hairstyle to Neloth xD Your replacers are the ones which seem to balance the best between vanilla "style" and modernized graphics. Can't wait for complete version of Northbourne NPCs
Yeah Modpocalypse NPCs is one of those mile wide but an inch deep type overhauls. Every NPC in that mod was made from a script using radomized sliders from the Creation Kit with a few set parameters to mimic original NPC's appearance. No account was taken for choice of individual small details for each NPC.
So while the NPCs may look different from vanilla they aren't necessarily better aside from new hair. They are still going to have the same basic facial structure and look as vanilla because the Creation Kit sliders for character creation is extremely limited. Creating a NPC replacer with Racemenu allows for radically different facial structure and diversity.
Still. Modpocalypse is one of those few that covers everything, so it's a pretty good base to build off.
I am having the missing faces glitch (eyes and teeth are still visible) It is mentioned to use xedit to find conflicts. I need help with how to solve this issue specifically to this mod as I am not sure how to use xedit properly and do not want to break anything.
Can someone give me a step by step guide on how to resolve the issue with xedit please
Hey Southpawe, mind if I pick your brain. One of the male mages in the college has the black face issue, would in your opinion be buvarp be the culprit ? https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/56120?tab=description
Does anybody know if this is compatible with Race-Based Textures? I understand that using skin textures other than the one the mod author used will change their appearance from the photos but I would like to try it to see what it looks like.
Does anyone know why in racemenu my gal has beards? I can't find a no beard selection. I mean, ALL the mens' beards in ALL the packs show up for her to choose. I don't think this should happen. It happened on a simple modlist so I'm pretty sure it's not me and I tested several ways.
Men in these overhauls just look way better, they are allowed to have lines and wrinkles on their face but every women must have faces smoother than babies' asscheeks while having the exact same face shape.
