I really want just the thirst component of this mod, but i can't seem to sadly disable hunger and fatigue. Is it possible to add those as toggle options - or is there something I can edit to make that happen?

    Thanks :)

There are all these food and sex need mods, but is there a weather needs mod?  You are running up the step to High Hrothgar, completely naked and it make no difference that the weather might be -40C.  Surely, in an immersive game if you are not properly dressed and fed that should affect your health also the strength of the winds should buffer you about.

Frostfall, a classic mod at this point, is what you're looking for.

I got all excited about a needs mod that I had missed, but then realized it has two other mod requirements and a patch.  This looks great, but it got messy right out of the gate with the additional requirements.  I'll keep an eye on it.  Thank you so much for sharing your efforts.

I understand what you mean, but just the opposite is true. This becomes obvious if it is understood that the mod has another requirement - skyrim.esm. Skyrim provides the essential meshes, textures and functionalities that this mod uses.
Since the basic functionalities of Skyrim are limited, a function extension is required, e.g. for the creation of a comprehensive water usage mod. This is what SKSE delivers.
Since neither Skyrim nor SKSE contain routines or functions for water detection, these must be implemented for every mod that requires such routines or functions.
This in turn means that, depending on the mods used, such routines for water detection may be available twice or three times with different functionalities. And this will mess up your modded game, because meshes, textures and scripts for one and the same routine (water detection and functionality) are duplicated and scripting redundancies unnecessarily burden the performance of the game.
This can also lead to discrepancies, e.g. with a water bucket that mod A brings it into the game and which you cannot use to get water in mod B because mod B uses its own different bucket. Or the water hole in which you can wash yourself, but from which you cannot drink because different mods use different water detection methods.
Exactly to avoid this I made and use skywater as a framework mod, which provides exactly the required routines for water detection and functionality as well as all the necessary meshes, textures and other assets.
One basic module used for the needs mod as well as for the bathing mod and the laundry mod. This modular mod structure is used for asset sharing and prevents unnecessary redundancies and allows the actual mod to be kept very lean.
I think that's the better approach. But, hey, I am just sharing the stuff I made for my own gameplay. The choice is yours.

    Hi there,

Trying your mod out - lots of potential; I've been getting sick of using iNeed!

Bug - when in learning mode the menu keeps popping up and I can't close it; even after classifying the food. Is this normal?

    Thanks

It can have more than one classification. To finish there should be an exit or cancel option.

Same problem here. Trying to classify a mod-added beverage (elven coffee from Warm Drinks or Coffee mod) just leaves me stuck in the menu. I had to alt-tab and forcibly close the game. I had a "cancel" option, but I thought that would just cancel the choices I already made, but it didn't work anyway. I clicked it several times but couldn't leave the menu.

I have the same issue too. Clicking any food-type or Cancel opens the menu again XD. There's no EXIT button
I will have to turn that function off until it's fixed.

Aside from that, I am incredibly enjoying the mod. Criminally underrated in my opinion, and a good substitute over survival mode.

I found and have fixed a bug in the learning script leading to the beverage menu not working. Bud I couldn't test the hotfix - so please let me know.

It hasn't helped sorry, or at least not for me. I tried to teach the mod some non vanilla stuff (e.g. Nordic Coffee) and the same problem is still there. It asks me to "further classify" and then just seems to get stuck in a loop of asking the questions (soft/alcoholic/medicinal ... whether boiled or not), and the cancel option doesn't work. I have to alt-tab and use Task Manager to close the game.

I do have quite a well-packed load order. I'll try it on a vanilla-ish new game and see if that helps. I really like some of the ideas you've put into it so I hope I can get it working properly, although to be honest I'm not a big fan of Lesser Power option dialogues. I prefer ini files myself.

Unfortunately, it didn't work on my end either

I still can't close the learning menu after picking a classification for unknown food. I picked multiple times, and it still asked again. Clicking CANCEL doesn't exit.

Ok and thanks for checking. I will fire up my skyrim tonight to find out and fix the issue.

EDIT: Hotfix 1.2 will fix the loop. Food and Bevs menus are working now.

Hm. I just tried a very minimal new game - core ESMs, SKSE64, this mod, SkyWater, Hunterborn and AddItem. This mod didn't show up in my lesser powers though so maybe there's some other requirement that I've missed.

I will come back to it and see if I can work it out.

Just tried Hotfix 1.2 and it worked. Now I can exit the learning menu :)
Thanks for the Fix 7StarC. I really think your mod is a hidden gem. It deserves more attention.

NikiRandom I believe you have to exit to the exterior or at least finish the quest unbound. I use Alternate Start and the power shows up after I exit to the open world.

Thank you 7StarC. I have no Exit in the Learning dialogue but the Cancel button works now. I'll play on for a while and see how it goes. Many thanks : )

@LuluAshfield ... yes I use ASLAL too, but I wanted to try the most minimal load order possible to make sure that other mods weren't interfering with this one.  It was weird seeing vanilla Skyrim again : -D

to change the CANCEL into EXIT I need to change the plugin (.esp). Well, next time.

And it is as LuluAshfield said, on a new game the mod starts right after escape from Helgen (quest done). In case of an alternative start mod, I would expect that mod to set the Helgen quest to be done. If that is not the case just go to any Inn to start the mod.
