This is great. Updates Vilja to 2023 standards. Now, I don't suppose you have plans to revoice the rest of Vilja's NPCs since their voice quality is very poor, especially the witch.
I generated new lip files with CK so that the voice is back in synch. Absolutely worth it. Vilja is amazing, I can't imagine the kind of trolls that would bash the Vilja mod in any form.
These are the steps I took: - Use Yakitori Audio Converter to convert all the .fuz audio files from this mod to .wav - Use SynthUtil to convert the .wav files to wav files that are more easily read by the CK (set aside and retain the higher quality .wav files from the first step) - Start CK from MO2 with the argument -GenerateLips:EMCompViljaSkyrim.esp - Let it complete and then do the same for EMViljaInSolstheimAddOn.esp - Keep all the new Lip files but discard the low quality wav files generated with SynthUtil. - Combine the CK generated lip files with the wav files retained from the first step, again using Yakitori Audio converter to create .fuz.

The YouTube video is not that great. Why play music when we are trying to hear the voice? It seems to sound ok but for me it is not clear with the music in the background. Also, the voice just seems out of place for some reason. It would be better to just make a new voice in another language accent. The more mature Vilja fits the lore of her original character voice. Imo. I am not saying anything is bad. Just the video. I wanted to hear both voices without much background noise. Thanks for modding. That's all I have to say. :)
Yes, the original voice is better. This one is good too. And it could bring new users to know Vilja, a good thing. I worked with Emma, and she is an awesome person. English is not my native language, but I love her ascent, is so unique, as she is.
I agree, she doesn't sound old at all, I've used Vilja in both Oblivion and Skyrim and I love her voice. I don't know why people find her annoying, she literally made Skyrim and Oblivion more beautiful for me and completely changed the experience in the best way possible.
Both voices are good in some way, I don't mind either of them since I had Vilja in Oblivion and Skyrim. Also, "fattie neckbeards"? What if there's some young women that want to download this mod; are they also neckbeards or do you think that they don't exist? Even though I don't like how many waifu mods there are, I don't put others down for modding their games they want them to be. There's literally no harm in people modding their games to their liking even if it's "immersion breaking/too anime" to you since it doesn't affect you. Opinions are opinions after all, but please don't be rude to the modder if they did nothing wrong.
This all comes down to personal preference. I personally prefer the original voice as well because it's indeed unique compared to other voiced followers, but I can understand why most people don't seem to like it. I just installed it cause I would like to see a change compared to my previous playthroughs. Anyway, It could be that her original voice is hard to understand for most peeps cause they are unfamiliar with the accent. There is nothing wrong with the old voice or this mod itself, however it IS wrong to post meaningless and toxic comments. If you don't like this tweak simply because you prefer the original voice and not because there is anything wrong with the mod and you decide to trash talk merely for that reason, then that is just immature, because it's unnecessary and pointless. Fact is, it's a win-win. Now both the people who dislike and like the OG voice can be satisfied. Also like Xtudo said, this could easily bring more recognition to the original vilja.
There is no doubt an entire generation raised on the squeaky little girl sounds of anime. They would probably recoil at the sound of an adult voice. This mod is for them.
Moksha8088 is a good example of "i dont like this mod, therefore people who like this mod must be lower than me" kind of people. I hope im wrong, but if im right, then god help your soul, if you believe in one at least.
Yeah, the original voice isn't better. Though I don't agree that it sounds like an old woman, it's just the recordings are really scratchy and that honestly distracts away from the content. This voice still has a little bit, but much fewer audio artifacts.

I play on Linux and suspect the software won't be there to do this.
