If anyone has question about the functions of SmoothCam and want to make their own preset, feel free to ask. I spent hours testing the limitations of SmoothCam and I am willing to share that information.
Visit SmoothCam's github page. (I have a request in the issue tab requesting an auto shoulder swap function that would imo really improve on over the shoulder game play, so any comment or like would help get the authors attention)
Here is a webpage that will give you examples of interpolation methods. This is by far the most tedious part to get right and the graph on that webpage really helped me understand what was going on. If you set the smoothing rate low you can see the interpolation method better.
For anyone who found this preset hoping to remedy 3rd Person DOF issues with ENB and SmoothCam- I use default SmoothCam Preset and Silent Horizons ENB which utilizes Advanced Depth Of Field "Kitsune Edition" and there is a setting called "Autofocus Sample Radius" under ENBDEPTHOFFIELD.FX which was set to 0.05. Changing the value to 0.01 gives me great 1st person conversation and 3rd person environment ENB DOF and for me entirely eliminates the problem of the DOF activating on PC Body in 3rd person. FWIW
You can change the fov in the console, ini files, or through smoothcam.
In the console type "fov xx" where xx is the value you want. So "fov 100" will set the fov to 100. The default fov is 75 and if you use console commands it will persist with saves, that means if you start a new game or you revert to an old save it will go back to either the default or the setting you had before the console command.
Sorry for the late reply. I've tried all those methods already, and the fov itself changes, but my player's arms and weapons are still stuck in default mode. That's what I meant. Any tips?
Unfortunately, smoothcam has a lot of issues with the crosshair. It might be my preset but I have my crosshair off when it comes everthing besides magic and archery combat. If you run Archery gameplay overhual, you will need to adjust the settings . Less Intrusive Hud + Immersive Hud makes changes to the crosshair also. Is your problem with the sneak crosshair? or with the activation crosshair?
Let me know because I am going to release a much improved version of this soon.
This is an excellent preset, this really makes combat, exploring, etc feel much more cinematic and exciting. I’d just like to know how to turn off the auto zoom when aiming a bow? I can’t seem to find a setting in smoothcam relating to it
This will be a little tedious for you. What I would do is set the "ranged combat" settings (Side offset, Zoom, and FOV (FOV has a zoom effect)) for the "running" and "bow aiming" sections the same as the "walking' section. Then you can fine tune from there. The reason you have a zoom effect when aiming, even though the setting is set to zero is because when you draw the bow, it depend what state the character was in before your zoom (standing or running). So if your zoom is -25 when you are standing and 0 when you are aiming, the camera will zoom 25 units. Do not forget that the FOV brings the image closer and can replicate the zoom without moving the camera away from the character (Y axis).
Thanks for the mod. Personally I would tone down a bit the "zoom out" effect when sprinting, to make it more similar to a classic over the shoulders camera, but for the rest I really enjoy it.
It is being overwritten by the Smoothcam preset in the Overwrite folder of M02. If it is redundant then that means you already made preset for slot 1 and 6. (the JSON file will be and SmoothCamPreset0 and SmoothCamPreset5).
Go into your "overwrite" folder at the bottom of you load order and delete or move either SmoothCamPreset0 and SmoothCamPreset5. You can also change the preset slot by changing the number of "SmoothCamPreset5" to any slot that you choose. 0 is preset 1: 1 is preset slot 2: etc.
Sountrack2chaos, Let me know if your problem has been fixed. I have no issue when I download it. Smoothcam's file setup is a little different and you have to make sure in the MCM that you do not accidently save a preset when you are trying to load a preset. A redundancy happens because another file is overwriting the mod's file.
Not sure if that reply was after or before I changed my comment but I relished I was wrong on what was happening to Soundtrack2chaos so I wanted to remove my comment and forgot Nexus you can't do that so I just changed it to deleted. Hope there is no misunderstanding.
Thanks! I'll give it a try. (The pictures in brown torrential rain make it a little difficult to fathom the benefits of your preset! Perhaps that contributes to the slow pick up? )

Thanks for the clarification and not hurting my fragile ego.

I thought about it and it looks 10x better in game (I am making my own enb with my edited Cathedral Weathers).
I appreciate it.
