Hello, is there a way to make the decorations (garlands, baubles, colored candles, etc.) disappear once the season is over like now without uninstalling the mod, like replacing the meshes with invisible versions ? Ideally, of course, these decorations, carolers and quests should be visible according to the calendar only for the month of Evening Star. Happy new year ! ... Well, I've copied the archive and replaced the esp file with an empty one so as not to disrupt my loading order. I've deleted everything from the archive except the “scripts” folder, which I don't know if I can delete too. It works and it's a lesser evil. I'll put the original archive back on December 1, 2025. I also noticed a Christmas tree in the middle of the Dragonreach fire. I'll have to remove it next Christmas. Ideally, I'd like to move it, but I don't know how to do that. Plus, with the use of Nature of the Wild Lands, the baubles in the trees float in the air.
Seeing Volkihar Keep is also decorated is absolutely silly consider that they're evil group of Vampires has no forgiveness. In anycase, this is a great mod.
Use best judgment, e.g.: don't uninstall while you're in new interiors added by the mod.
The original authors stated that the oldrim version could be deactivated at any time, without corruption. This version has no major alterations, so that probably still applies.
But as you probably already know, you'll lose the items added by the mod.
Ideally, though, the mod should refer to the in-game calendar as Holidays. Quests such as decorations or singers should only appear from December 1 (Evening Star 1) to December 31(Evening Star 31).
This mod is great, but in 2024, it's clear that it needs patching, if only for the tree mods like Nature of the Wild lands, full of floating baubles in trees. I'm surprised there have been so few mods for Saturalia this year, and every year we end up using mods that are starting to look a bit dated. In any case, happy Saturalia to all !
Played this back in Oldrim and already seriously thinking of putting this back in.
A little backstory in that it created a Christmas I'll never forget. So, during my time off on the Holidays I played Skyrim near Christmas and sieged Windhelm during the Civil war. During the war the Carolers were out singing as Windhelm was burning to the ground and chaos erupted. When it was all done and as I walked from the Palace of Kings I heard a sweet sound on the wind. And there they were... having survived the siege and singing beautiful carols amidst the rubble as I stopped to listen to them sing their Saturalia songs. To this day I remember it and will always have a special place in my heart for this mod. True story.
The original mod authors stated, in the comments for the oldrim version, that it could be deactivated without file save corruption.
I would like to port the 'after' version as well. Unfortunately, my knowledge of the process I used to port this has waned, as has my willingness to re-learn it. Perhaps.
Dark Forests of Skyrim SE interferes with this mod. The trees, both exterior and interior, have no foliage and the tree decorations appear to be suspended in the air when it is active. Easy enough to just disable Dark Forests for the season or enjoy it on Oldrim so I don't have to miss out on this fabulous mod. Quite clever reworking of the carols to fit the lore.
Basic functionality seems intact, I believe the mod still works as intended. I was able to trigger the start quest in Whiterun and the carolers are working (as long as you create a new save and load that save, as directed on the original mod page).

The original mod had an "After Saturalia" file. Is that necessary or can I simply deactivate the mod?

Virtually all mods that change the shape of trees will conflict, though the conflict will be aesthetic: you'll wind up with floating decorations.
