Is the gauntlet fix working for anyone on Legacy? Still a huge hole - I unpacked bsa replaced the files and everything.
EDIT: If you're wearing it with the right armour, there's no more gap! Any other armor though, gap still there. But I guess that doesn't really matter!
I should probably just follow your instructions and be quiet lol, but why do we need to unpack the Gifts of Akatosh .bsa file before overwriting it with this mod? Don't loose files always overwrite .bsa files anyways? Thank you!
Also: Does this mod cover the weapons from Gifts of Akatosh? I can't tell if that's what the "gear.dds" file from your mod is.
Unpacking the .bsa is indeed not actually required, I think.
I'm unsure whether the weapons are covered (it's been so long since I made this lol). I'd say probably not; I didn't check and make sure since to me, the weapons looked alright.
So I'm unclear on how I'm supposed to install this, so I manually download the Gifts of Akatosh mod and unpack the bsa, then install this mod (1.2) let it overwrite, then one of the 4k or 8k files?
LOTDB has made that armor my favorite armor on the nexus. I always get a big smiling grin on my face when getting the set. With this mod, I can finally appreciate it more.
Thank god someone more capable than me had this idea, I successfully upscaled the textures myself a few months back, but I could never figure out how to fix the gauntlet holes.
Oh geez, I didn't even notice that mesh issue until you pointed it out. I'll try my hand at fixing it and see if I can get anywhere, because that's pretty rough.
I think this isn't working for me. I have downloaded mod Gifts of Akatosh, than installed this mod (retexture) and gountlet fix. And niether armor is better quality nor Gountlets are fixed. Do we need both mods under requirements?
Hmm. I've only tested the armour with Legacy of the Dragonborn: I'll correct the paths so Gifts of Akatosh benefits from the new texture and mesh as well.
I'm only using Gifts of akatosh, and when I have installed your retexture, there was no change. I did something myself, so at least wrist gap is gon, but and I think, that even texture is wright now. Been playing around with both mosd - yours and Gifts of Akatosh, but I can't really tell if I did it wright. Becouse I can't really say if textures are better. So if you would make it work for just GOA, i will see if my messing around was wright.
Nope, it's not on my end. Becouse, I have installed Gifts of Akatosh directly from Nexus to Vortex. Than I directly installed this mod 4K form Nexus to Vortex. Funny, when I installed your mod, it should overwrite original mod, but it didn't. I will try something else today. And see what will happen. Hope it will work.
I think it's working. Problem is that original mod is packed with bsa that's why your mod can't overwrite original mods textures. So to work with original mod, I had to unpack bsa file and create "loose" files. So that original file is not packed with bsa. Now vortex asked me which mod should be oberwritten. About the gauntlets fix, you should rename all files that are in the fix, becouse none of those files exists in original mod. So even if you install gauntlet gix, it's not working, becouse, it doesn't overwrite anything (that's why you should change names). I'll try to do something myself, but hope it will work.
I kind of fixed gauntlets. Now there is no gap in 3rd person, but now is gap in 1st person. Becouse as I said files in fix have totaly different name than in original mod. In your fix files are named with heavygauntlets and light gauntlets. But in original mod are named: akatoshgauntlets_0, akatoshgauntlets_1 and I think akatoshgauntletsgo. So I don't really know which should be replaced with which.
As in my case. Textures are good as long as you create loose file of original mod "Gifts of Akatosh" as I mentione it in previous posts. About gauntlet fix (updated), seam is gone in 3rd person, but is now in 1st person (at the same spot where it was before in 3rd person).
