    Worth mentioning you should absolutely not import custom-voiced followers into NFF. This is explicitly stated on most custom followers in addition it is mentioned by NFF in both the description and in the MCM.

    There is another Disable NPC stretching idle at Skyrim Special Edition Nexus - Mods and Community (nexusmods.com).
    You can try both.

    Are there any mods that actually replace these animations with something else, rather than just disabling them?

      It works well for me also with AFT. I have it way below AFT, near the bottom of my Load Order...

    Why does this require Dawnguard? This is exactly the mod I've been searching for, but I can't even use it without immediate CTD since I dont have Dawnguard

      Wait, how do you not have Dawnguard if you're on SSE...? SSE comes with all Expansions...
      Also, it requires Dawnguard because it also affects Serana.

      How is it cursed? This mod can be used in oldrim and not oldrim players own dawnguard so it's not cursed at all
