Added option to register a Day and/or a Night Helmet.
Added option to reset the mod to its blank state.
Fixed combat-helmet not unequipping out of combat, when in strict combat mode.
Default Hotkey for registering a Day or Night Helmet is "N". You can change it through the MCM if you want to assign another key to this function. If you want to unregister the current Day or Night Helmet, just press the Hotkey without anything on your head.
This mod is very good, but it causes errors in the companions' mission. In addition, it usually stays stuck, it does not remove the helmet for a long time.
Additionally, if one equips the helmet with the weapon outside, the mod also considers the location (indoor/outdoor) so that it equips the helmet even without removing the weapon.
I always end up back with this mod. It's the only one that "just works" really well for me straight out of the box. And plays v nicely with Wet and Cold.
If you do ever revisit it, I'd love to see a stripped version that only handles NPCs. Auto equipping my character isn't something I do on the whole, and followers are well handled by NFF and Wet and Cold.
Great mod anyway, does what I want it to very well. Thank you.
I would really like to see such a mod not only for helmets, but also for other equipment slots. In the city and at home, I would like to change into something else without settings in the menu... Otherwise, now mods for various outfits are lying around idle... :(
Question/Suggestion: Would it be possible to expand the functionality of this mod, so that you can manually select (via MCM) which armor slots are controlled by this mod? That way, users would be able to equip/unequip cloaks, shields, and other modded items as well as headgear. I suspect certain armor slots should be off by default, like arms/chest/legs. I could see that getting buggy, especially with the sneak condition. It could be nice with the day/night condition though, so idk.
Can this mod be made to work only on NPCs? It either ignores or reverts player character's helmet settings, followers are managed through follower framework but seeing other NPCs wear helmets depending on situation would be nice.
Hey there, I just installed this mod, but I seem to be having an issue where my helmet won't unequip after being in combat. I saw that this was apparently fixed over a year ago so I'm not sure what's going on.
This mod has been neglected, but I'll look into fixing it and update it with new ideas when I get the time. Right now I don't have any time at all... :(

If you're still on v1.5, I believe it should be fine.
