Great job!, it really improves the visual quality of the Falmer stuff.
I like your "HD Reworked" mods because you stay true to the original Skyrim style.
If it's not too much trouble, please could you make a "HD Reworked Riekling Architecture"?, I think it's something that really needs an improvement like the ones you do.
These reworks really made my Falmer experience much better - thanks. I can certainly see the higher quality.
In terms of suggestions, I must say that Nordic Ruins (and dungeons generally) is a rework candidate. There are characterful retextures for these already (Rudy and Venerable Nordic Temples the best IMO) but no good vanilla+ ones. You have to use multiple mods to cover them, which makes the textures inconsistent. Underground mod had a good crack at the problem but its nordic textures aren't great. Anyway, just my humble request.
Could I ask the reason why you call everything "reworked" and never mention upscaling in your descriptions? It makes it sound like you're doing this from scratch, which given the fact that this mod was only suggested 2 days ago, is clearly not the case.
You don't have to feel ashamed or anything like that, upscaling is generally accepted these days. You have a nice profile and it's producing some really clean results and improvement over vanilla. It's just not end game like you make it out to be.
i believe almost all are upscaling the textures and then improving them. very rarely u see something totally from scratch; so, 'reworked' is part of the upscale i guess.
Why are you constantly complaining about every my modification? HD Reworked its prefix of all my new modifications and you shouldn't have anything to do with it. Also, it's not a simple upscaling, because a lot of the work is also done manually. And please stop with your malicious comments, I know what I'm doing, believe me. Have a nice day.
I'm just trying to figure out why you hide the fact that you are upscaling vanilla textures, that's all. I mean, it's not like you need to list the exact AI and different sets of learning scripts you're using followed by a tutorial of how to blend the results together.
Also, if you think suggesting improvement on an alpha map constitutes as complaining (bear mod), then that really says it all. I gave you a positive suggestion that could have made a significant change, but hey, you know what you're doing, after all.
@johnskyrim While it may not be my place to intervene, if positive feedback is indeed your purpose, try and phrase it... positively. It's not like he's slapping a remaster sticker over like ubisoft while only changing color tones and charging you again for it. Also, you seem a pretty great modder yourself, I use some of your mods. If you are displeased show him your version of what "rework" means by creating it yourself, that's worth more than any kind of words.
I'm not sure what Hogan's process is, but it does look pretty darn good for an upscale. Probably the only upscales I use. Besides, who's really going to redo all the Falmer textures from scratch? It'd take quite some time for something most people don't care much about. They're hard to find, in my experience.
I don't think this is a pure upscale alone. There are to many details added on those textures. I haven't seen a pure upsccale that get's detail added to it. O.O
Vendasia, it depends on the algorithm you're using. ESRGAN for example, can train and create detail that isn't there originally, whereas upscalers like Topaz Gigapixel use more of a nearest neighbour approach.
There are always toxic comments of this type in nexus, the nexus community has been filled with people this toxic, who criticize everything, who allege everything. They do not support their fellow modder, on the contrary they always see how they criticize their work. (I mean many more similar examples throughout nexus, not just this one.)
The nexus community is not improving, it is getting worse with a lot of people like that (even politics), it is supposed that they have to support themselves to improve the games available in the nexus community.
I speak at a general level of the entire community without mentioning names. That said, I am not open to discussion, I have only given my point of view.
Thank you very much for the mod, I have it on my mod list.
@johnskyrim You are really toxic. I have some of your mods installed in my game but I will delete every single one of them. I won't support a passive-aggressive modder who insists in harassing a fellow creator.
@johnskyrim I understand what you're saying but you don't need to be rude about it. I use some of your mods and the quality is fantastic but you don't need to rip on other people because they utilize upscaling. At least say it positively if you're going to criticize him. As you've said, modding is stressful and we do it for free, so don't be unpleasant about it.
Edit: Actually, I don’t get what you’re saying. Saying “Reworked” doesn’t instantly mean made from scratch. Not cool dude.
Im sorry John, but why do you keep doing this? I seem to remember you accusing Renthal311 of getting his textures from google images too. While i agree making things from scratch has the potential for a better product, a lot of people just dont have the talent to do it like you do. There is no shame in any of that because making art, and the very essence of modding, is all about using your available toolset to the fullest to make things people like.
Here is the quote about Renthal i was talking about btw(from your Facebook): "He takes photographs from Google, upscales them (to worse quality) calls them HD, has Normal Maps auto-generated by Nvidia (which NOBODY uses) and actually believes he is the best texture modder on Skyrim Nexus when he didn't actually create anything himself. There's no helping some people, lol"
Not sure why people are jumping down john's neck, when he's absolutely right.
The mod author carries on as if being honest about the fact that these are simply upscaled textures is taboo or something. Even going out of his way to call them "reworked", despite that term meaning that that the original was actually changed.
Running Bethesda's own textures through a program that uses upscaling AI to do the work for you isn't a "rework", and failing to even mention the process anywhere, much less mentioning the AI being used, seems a bit dishonest.
I could literally use Topaz Gigapixel to get the same result (and have). The blatant misdirection just seems weird on the mod author's part.
@SuzanoSho You're funny my friend. If you have no idea how AI upscaling works and how much manual work it takes to achieve good results, please don't comment.
It takes about a minute to install all three mods in MO2 and check the conflicts. How on earth can you expect the mod author to know every single conflict between their mods and the rest of the Nexus? Compare the textures in MO2. If there are meshes in any of the mods you are checking, open them in NIF Scope and check the texture paths. It's not rocket science.
Awesome mod. I remember seeing it here on nexus but thinking "I'm not gonna waste time looking at these falmer stuff". But then I was going through the Forgotten Vale and I noticed the low quality when I couldn't tell anything apart amidst the blur that are the vanilla textures.

Oooph, passive aggressive much?
@HalkHogan Thank you for this! It looks great.

I kid I kid, incredible work! You make some of the best textures on the site.

And Falmer by Kajun if I just install yours after?
