if you have the latest Skyrim update the AE version is outdated and doesn't work.
this mod somehow still works on AE and non AE versions from my experience.

I have to disable this mod when doing TexGEN and DynDOLOD, they demand it. What is the problem?

Running into the same problem, kind of frustrating...
Gonna switch away from this mod for now and move on to Valhalla Combat as mentioned in a lower comment by Ashifat99 which seems to be a good replacement... At least on paper.

I'm using this in SkyrimVR with FUS modlist and it prevents stamina regeneration when using a shield. So, once your stamina is drained, you need to lower/unequip the shield.

Looking at the comments I think we are all doing something wrong lol.
This mod works for me and gives XP on block.
The problem I have with it is that, like it says on the tin, converts damage to stamina damage while blocking but it does not stop working when you are out of stamina or don't have enough stamina to trade 1:1 like vigors system.

You get hit for 80 damage while at 1 stamina, you lose 1 stamina and take 0 HP damage, you get hit again, and in that time you already recovered 1 stamina, so you fully absorb the next attack. It also makes no distinction between a shield and 2h/torch block.
I tested this in a city, blocking with a 2h iron mace and 6 guards were unable to damage me, arrows and all.
I guess you are suppose to use this with a mod that disables stam regen while blocking but I feel like that should be built into the MCM.
Wanted to replace Vigor with this but it's not working out for me.

Tell me if I'm using the mod wrong or missing something.

Perhaps try Enai Saion's new combat overhaul mod, Valravn. It increases the "regen dead time" of all attributes from 0.5s to 2s, so if your stamina gets consumed or drained, it takes 2 seconds before starting to regen. That's enough time to get hit by another attack.

I am using this mod and Valravn together, with great results. Thanks for the tip!

I'm guessing this mod isn't being updated anymore because I would love to use this mod, but according to Loot, I won't even bother starting it up. Hopefully a fix will come one day.

Message from Loot: This plugin contains records that have FormIDs outside the valid range for an ESL plugin. Using this plugin will cause irreversible damage to your game saves.

Pragasette has posted a fix to the FormID problems in the bugreports section of this thread. If you follow their advice then you can fix
the formID issue and use this mod safely.

The author hasn't given permission to upload alternate evrsions of this mod so you will have to do the fix yourself in SSEEdit.

I tested it myself and it works fine.

gotta say, the author isn't a very admirable person than... I mean, the entire modding community seems to have taken a turn to the worse, most authors are jealous and over-zealous about their mods, the best authors are all MIA (at least the ones I knew), and we have plenty of authors locking their updated releases behind patreon paywalls... What has become of Skyrim's modding community!??!?!

Anyway, you rock for shedding the info, I'll go for it.

Funny thing is the modding community has been stagnating for years, and some of these paywall authors you mention are actually revolutionizing everything and eventually releasing the mods for free after a time. Finally we get amazing animation and behavior mods. Don't blame them for making a buck.

Most of the mod users know nothing about actual modding and are basically freeloading. Can't really complain about free stuff.

@Helveden Personally I think the modding community have taken a turn to the better. Mod authors are making revolutionary mods one after another. They are proud of their work because the mods are actually very impressive, so they should be. Patreon is supposed to enable authors to have more time to work on their mods. If you actually look at their pages, you can see usually they set the wall behind only 1 dollar. You don't buy coffee for one day in a month, then you can get early updates from four different authors. Also, like @tx52xt said, they still release their stable version later for free.

It's always funny to me how people can complaint about a mod author's personality while using their mods. It is like receiving a gift that you like but you repay him by telling him what problems he has. Then you wonder why they become unwilling to help or even leave the community. I am not saying that every mod author is kind, but if you enjoy their mods the least you can do is be nice.

@junggg327  Couldn't agree more. Personal attacks on one's character are out of line in the majority of cases, but doing so while freeloading is ungrateful and entitled.
