Just posting this here. If you ask a question that's answered in this sticky or in the description after I posted it, I get the right to mock you for not reading. :P
Of course if you don't understand something, you can still ask. But if you ask a question that is easily answered by reading, prepare to be mocked :P

    Q&A:

    Compatibility with x mod?
This is textures, so it cannot break your game. However, all mods but USSEP should overwrite this.
    Example Priority in MO2:
    0 DLC - HearthFires
    1 DLC - Dragonborn
    2 DLC - Dawnguard
3 Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch
4 Cleaned Skyrim SE Textures (This mod)
    5 Some other mod

Compare/Use with Unofficial Performance Optimized Textures?
They both affect the same thing. So pick this mod or that mod. If you are using the highest version of UPOT (UPOT for high end machines) this mod outperforms. Medium version (UPOT for medium end machines) has slight performance increase. Low version (UPOT for low end machines) has much better performance. All versions of UPOT will be lower quality than this mod due to using Bethesda's dirty textures. My textures are cleaned.
My advice is: If you have a very bad PC use UPOT, otherwise this mod (CSSET), is the better choice, as far as I know.

    My map has no roads?
Roads are added by mod "Quality World Map" or such, please make sure ALL OTHER MODS OVERWRITE THIS.

Can you upload somewhere else so I can download faster?
No. The intent is to provide non-premium nexus users with a sense of pride and accomplishment for waiting 42 minutes for this download at 2MB/s.

Can you split the file into pieces so I can download with my sh*tty internet?
No. Use download manager like Jdownloader. If your internet drops during the download, Jdownloader will protect it from corruption.

    Ugly distant tiling?
I looked into this and it is from textures/terrain (which is for distant terrain). This is what it looks like by default (as far as I can see). If you want some better looking terrain LOD use this mod. Terrain LOD redone

Please, please, please CTRL+F "mod", "compatibl" "optimized"

    ====

Issues with old versions will not be supported.

I'm releasing a 'loose' version of this mod for some people to work with. My friend shattered rock initially provided the BSAs version so I can't exactly cross reference what needs to be deviated from as I don't have skyrim installed right now. but having this loose version should prevent omitting some of bethesda's new data if you use the latest version of skyrim.

Vortex can't work with this. After install, the mod doesn't appear as a plugin (ESP) , so you can't change the load order.

It's not that kind of mod. What I recommend is to:
-Download Winrar or something similar if you don't already have it.
-Open this mod's archive and move the Texture Bsa's 0-8 into the Data folder inside your Skyrim Install location, most likely located in "C:/ProgramFilesx86/Steam/SteamApps/Common. Select Yes to Overwrite.
-With the mod archive still open, drag the "textures" folder to the desktop.
-Right click the textures folder and select "Compress to Zip". If you don't have Windows 11, select "Add to Archive" and just select "ok".
-Add the newly created Textures archive manually through Vortex and just install it, no need for a plugin.

If something in this is messed up, validating your files through Steam will redownload the original bsa's.

Late reply, but yes. Be aware that verifying the game files through Steam will redownload the original bsa's.

hey , i have a problem , i just updated to the recommended 12.3.3 and after that my performance dropped , its like i am not running cleaned textures any more , and i feel the game not so smooth , i tried uninstalling and reinstalling 1.2.3.2 but its all the same , also my load order rules for cleaned textures disappeared from vortex ( i had several about blood textures or elfx ) . With cleaned textures the road in riften was not black , without it it has black shaders . Thats what happens with 1.2.3.2 and 1.2.3.3 installed now .Every bit of help it would be gratelly appreciated!!

    Hello,
I am on the latest SSE version SkyrimSE.exe 1.6.1170 I have the latest version 1.2.3.3, but I have the helgen missing textures bug that was metioned in the bug panel for version 1.2.3.2

Someone mentioned Skyrim Landscape and Water Fixes and a nif conflict in the bug report, but someone else had the bug without Skyrim Landscape and Water Fixes installed, and in my MO2 list it shows no nif conflicts between the mods, and it was closed as fixed with my current version any ideas?

tried this from the bug report:

    FIX:
Right-Click Skyrim Landscape and Water Fixes in your mod order and select Open in Explorer.
    Navigate to meshes/clutter/helgen
    Rename lawf_helgenmud01.nif to helgenmud01.nif
    Done.

This fixed the bug for me, but why? 🤔

Hello, thank you for your mod, I took the "Kart_CSSET_POST_1.6.1130" version for Skyrim SE 1.6.1170, can I delete the "textures" folder ?

Shouldn't be an issue.  Install this as a base and then overwrite with your preferred texture mods.

Currently unusable for modded installs of AE. Loose files will overwrite all textures for any mod that packages their texture changes as BSA.

    It works now :3

I noticed that the latest version is just loose files. It says in its description that it fixes issues through this method, and that you don't have access to Skyrim right now. WIll you ever offer the latest version of this mod as a BSA formatted/replacer download ever again sometime if the future? If so, what will be the timeframe to do so? Sorry if this is a rude question.

One more thing. (Sorry about bothering about this).

Theoretically, how would one fix the issue for you?

You said the following: "My friend shattered rock initially provided the BSAs version, so I can't exactly cross reference what needs to be deviated from as I don't have Skyrim installed right now".

I assume you wish for someone to send you the BSA files from a working Skyrim installation? I can send you them if you like.

No, I mean if they provide the finished bsas, I will upload them, as in they do the merging themselves.

Hey Kartoffels, can you elaborate on what exactly the issues are right now so I can know what to look for?
I was planning on looking into putting the BSAs together sometime soon.

edit: ah I see the missing texture report. I'm assuming that's the problem?

sorry for late reply, basically you want to take my loose file version, and then apply that over the extracted files of the BSA. Then repack.

      1. extract BSAs
      2. overwrite extracted data with my data
      3. repack BSAs.
      4. QC that the game takes the replacements.
      5. 7z the files.
