Do any of these cube maps tie into meshes\sc\0_followers\000_Joel\body\malefeet_1.nif somehow? getting this missing mesh warning on EasyNPC and was told this is possible from a Joel race mod you created? I dont have that mod so trying to figure where its comming from. I only have the cubemaps from here.
I am a bit confused here... This looks awesome but does it only effect ebony armor? Also what is the difference between main and standalone? oh it replaces all cube maps but you're just show casing them on ebony armor? I guess that's consistent but not sure how that helps to demonstrate something like an eye cube map.
Gotcha thanks. If I install this mod would it prolly be better to have it winning overwriting confllicts or losing them? As I have a few mods with custom ones such as Rustic Clutter, Cathedral Armory, Orc Settlements, Animated Eating, and Forgotten Retex.
As far as I understand it, lots of mods are made with cubemaps that are tailored to those retextures, so it's probably better to not overwrite if you like the particular look of something already.
That being said, you can always try it and see how it looks in game, and if you don't like it, uninstall it - assuming you're using a mod manager, I mean. (It's what I've been doing with the eye cubemap, which is actually turning out better on my setup than the ones bundled with the eye replacers I'm using.)
if a modder used or made a cubemap critical to the specific appearance of there weapons, armor, outfits, and some structures. then they usually place the cubemap in there own texture directory so its unaffected by cubemap retextures
but its not always the case. the modder might not be thinking or know how cubemap retextures might effect it. I would think a lot of city retextures/structure are set up to use the base games cubemap directories
You would let this win any Overwrite Kulharin. Depends on the mod manager you use. This would NEED to be lower in Priority in Mod Organizer 2's Left Pane to win any Conflicts though.
It would be worth it if certain retextures had an ESP or an ESP-FE (NOT an ESL) for their specific cube maps that way you could have multiple types of mods use varied cube maps and I hope, that the ones using an ESP would show so we could have individual types instead of overwrites.
I would be willing to lose a spot or two on my load order for an ESP if it was the only way that way you could have specific cube map files like this display simultaneously.
This is absolutely beautiful work Shingles. Once I find a reason and way to install the correct pack I am going to do so. In the mean time this is definitely endorsed.
I just uploaded an outfit that is set to use these cubemaps, the standalone version. any res should be fine. i used the 1024 standalone which is 4k res I'm also working on a 2nd outfit with them. the 2nd outfit is a WIP. I have a test version of it at LL in a preview thread
By Zenithar, man, this is some of the most stunningly beautiful work done for Skyrim that I have ever seen. Just.....thank you so much. Literally everyone should install one of the files from this mod, which I'll add has flown way too under the radar for what it deserves.
Very nice work. Of what I've seen, these have to be the best cubemaps that have been made so far for skyrim.
So far it doesn't matter what type of shine I'm going for on an armor or outfit, your cubemaps can make some nice shines for anything.
Its a shame, it sounds like you had modders not crediting your nice work on all of your mods, going off what your profile says. which lead you to changing your thoughts on terms of use.
The outfit I'm working on now has rusted, iron, gold, and platinum versions for the metal, each version of the metal having 3 different color options for cloth. With a 4th option to make the cloth chainmail.
With all them types of shines needed your cubmaps are a must with how perfect they are made. I'm defiantly going to have to set your misc resource as a requirement for the armor
Love all the mods you've released so far! great work :) wanted to ask which male skin textures you're using in all your screenshots? Are they custom add/or will they be released soon?
When I install I have this take priority over everything. Get to loading screen ok but attempting to enter a game or make a new character causes instant CTD. I have it installed via vortex
