Generally, I like this mod. A few quibbles though: 1.) I think it really shouldn't be available until you actually are Thane and perhaps did something on top of what's required to be Thane. A custom quest would be great, but I admit that's a tall order. ^^ 2.) That master bedroom really looks drafty ... I think I would prefer something a little smaller and easier to heat, at least cozier with wall tapestries and carpets, etc. 3.) The follower quarters look more like (slighty) upgraded troop barracks. I know some people just like to 'collect' followers. I usually regard followers as friends and comrades. I don't like quartering them in such cramped conditions with no privacy while claiming a massive master bedroom for just myself. That's not how you treat friends. I personally would've preferred a couple smaller rooms with just one or two beds each and some furniture (like wardrobes), even if that means I can only house 4 or 5 followers.
On the upside I love the general idea (especially if combined with the Elisif Follower addon it makes a lot of sense ... not that having Elisif as follower will ever really make sense. But it's kinda fun. ^^) I also love that round (ok more like semicircle) table thingy. Just not sure if the enchanting table smack center is placed so well there.
Excellent mod thx - using JK's Blue Palace, no issues. Are you meant to have to be Thane before you get it? - I just walked up on my first visit to the BP and walked in. Love the idea of making a copy for Windhelm - some places have stacks of nearby large player homes, but Windhelm isn't one of them (or Markarth, but that would need different textures to fit in probably) Found a conflict - albeit minor - the door to the courtyard - Enhanced Solitude places a Statue of Talos in that exact alcove - you can still reach the door if you don't mind the immersion hit. Would be easy to patch the statue to an adjacent alcove, but I notice it has some lighting effects on it so would need to shift those too - although they would be a nice "night light" for the door.
I can't get the mod to work, do I need to become thane after the mind of madness quest? There's no door outside in the courtyard. Does JK's skyrim or legacy of the dragonborn mess it up?
This house works perfectly fine with or without JK & Legacy, I'm currently using those mods with this house. Also there are no requirements to gain acess to the house its free from the begining. there are two doors to thane quarters first is at the court on the right if your facing the blue palace main door. Second is in the blue palace go upstairs turn right and follow the hallway and you see a door at the end. really dont know why the mod doesnt work for you perhaps load order? after reading your message i reinstalled this mod to double check and it all worked fine ;/
Awesome, thank you for your help. So I got in through the interior of the palace and exited through the exterior door which appeared as I left!!! Very nice house any chance for an indoor pool or big bathroom?
I wanted to, but as I'm trying to keep the shape of the quarters to suit the exterior of the blue palace space is limited, so i'm struggling to find out where to add extra rooms which i plan to.
Tested with soldierofwar's Solitude and it works great! Thank you so much for your amazing work! I would love to see a Relighting Skyrim patch someday!
Glade you Like my work :) I'm not too sure how I can make a patch for relighting skyrim, as am still learning the creation kit ;/ BUT I'll see what I can do.
Oh wow, well that makes it even more amazing that you did something this large. I can't believe how many mods I realized I have installed in Solitude. I literally have like 6 mods affecting Solitude, adding new buildings, people. AND this mod still works great. Everything does. No CTDs. 900 hours into this save now. Idk if it's because of my mods, but when I open the door to go into my Thane's Quarters there is a stone wall behind the opening door. lol. BIG DEAL! lol. I'm teasing. Who cares right?
I'm more interested in being able to place books on the shelves in my armory here. I just noticed the sets of massive bookshelves. I'm always trying to find a player home mod with enough room for every single skill book I've collected to be on display, yet I have never seen it done, EVER, and I've used 130 player home mods now. YES, THAT MANY! And no one seems to have the room for that many books but you and one other modder who altered the player home in Markarth to a tee. I would so love to see a few more mannequins but that makes about as big of a difference as the wall behind the outside door, so who cares. Like I said, the BOOOKS! lol. But I would loooove some weapon racks for shields AND swords and some of those long bright wooden weapon racks for multiple rows of weapons. Pretty pleeeease?
Thank you so much. You're an artist. Thank you for the beds, the weapon racks, the one mannequin that is there (One on either side of the entry way would be awesome). Thank you for the war room, the follower room, omg, all of it. This is so perfect.
I think the idle markers near the drain exit should be removed so followers stationed here don't get pulled when the exit is used. Followers that get pulled just stand on the road under Solitude's arch.
Would love to see more storage options around the house and a bit more decorating throughout. If you could make the bedroom with the six beds the childrens room and compatible with multiple adoptions as well as add child friendly details it would be amazing. A house Carl and steward would be a great addition as well. Over all it is a beautiful place a d a mod I will be keeping in my LO.
i love it so much the only thing i wanted to change , is add more mannequins so i had an idea of changing the jail into mannequin room spent 1hour console commanding my way to do it , but couldnt do it right plus , i cant place/remove an armor without the openactorcontainer command is there an easy way to do it ?? thanks again for this amazing mod
