I'm on 1.5.97, and despite the setting not existing in any of the masters, this mod works fine. Doesn't even need to be compacted to flag it as an .esl either.
Fantastic news! I'm about to install it on my Skyrim VR modlist. Hopefully now when I'm in a dungeon, my follower will sheathe her sword after combat but keep holding her torch in the dark.
I use to use this mod and loved it, but I had to uninstall and reinstall Skyrim the other day and now it doesn't work. I've tried using Extensible Follower Framework, but it doesn't help. Does anybody know how to fix? Thank you for any help in advance.
It seems that this Game Settings data that this mod Edited (fAIDistanceTeammateDrawWeapon), no longer exists in Skyrim.esm (i guess it was removed during one of Skyrim's update ?).
I found out while updating a merged plugin where i place a few small mod like this one. That record appears in Italic in SSedit and doesnt exist (anymore) in my Skyrim.esm. I remember having the need of it and it was solved by this mod, as a plugin, and also merged version, but i was like around more than 2 years ago. i couldnt tell now. I m currently deleting this no longer existing reference from my merged plugin...
Meaning : The method used by THIS mod to change NPC's behavior is certainly obsolete. cant tell if it can be fixed some other way though, or if the behavior itself have been changed in the game. (Possible update from me on this when i have stopped editing and played a bit haha :p)
I've been messing around with using SSE Edit to change the value of fAIDistanceTeammateDrawWeapon and have found that setting it to 30 works well. The radius at which my follower will draw their weapon because of me is inside their collision box at that point so I can bump into them without it happening.
I think this fixes the aggro problem as Lydia is charging into battle the moment an enemy detects me.
Edit: After installing this I realised that NFF has this function built in - 'Disable Weapon Draw' under 'Follower Outfit & Gear'. So no need for this mod if you use NFF.
Just found this and so far it works like a charm on custom follower Kaidan (Kaidan 2). No more drawing and redrawing that big a** sword every time I change between different spells. A mind saver!
Using this in my most recent mod list, and as a mage it’s a sanity saver. Having followers drawing their weapons every time I used non-combat spells in the middle of town or a room full of people made me crazy. It’s great not to have to constantly hear that metal sound of drawing weapons and seeing them go in their combat crouches in a peaceful situation.
