I have a bunch of comments on my other stuff I've not yet responded to, but no one ever comments here so you've gotten my attention lol. Sorry everyone else.
I have to look into what they did for v5, but I doubt there are any compatibility issues unless they drastically changed how water works.
Edit: It's not incompatible, just unnecessary... they have added an alternative volcanic water color similar to this one so no point in getting this anymore if you use v5. I guess I'll leave it up for now pending a different decision.
as my understanding, this problem should occur for every user. U changed all the color right, but Skyrim allows only one LOD water color for one Worldspace. In this Case the Tamriel Worldspace. So the LOD for Oceans fit in well with the normal blue, but if u make the volcanic water color too green, every user should notice this Watercolor mismatch compared to the LOD. Even the original RW2 has this problem.
The picture you posted seems to have the default RW2 volcanic water color loaded with LOD next to it, so it looks like you don’t have this installed.
And I now understand what you are talking about, I am aware of how water LOD works, but I’m confused as to what your issue is... are you complaining about a vanilla mechanic or telling me I should fix something that really cannot be fixed?
u wrote: "this is not supposed to happen" then i thought it is a problem only on my end. thats why i replied.
But in fact, every User of RW2 and of your Mod should have this Problem. I am just pointing this out, for Users who wonder where this big mismatch is comming from.
The Solution for this is, to make the vulcanic water not so green by changing your mod or RW2 volcanic water. But every User has to do it manually, since there is no Patch for it.
Thanks for this. That dayglow water always bugged me, and I am surprised RWT didnt include some kind of similar fix by default.
Now for a little science. What causes green water? Algae specifically, and based on the glowing green color we see in game, there would have to be epic amounts of algae in those pools. One would have to ask a geologist if the terrain there would likely produce the over-the-top green we see in game, but, I kind of doubt it, though I supposed it is possible. But to see the same uniform green glow-every single pool? No.
The only real-world images I could find that sort-of-matches the default green, is Crater lake, Santa Ana Volcano, El Salvador.
Though Im sure other cases in the RW exist, but, that kind of green seems to be an outlier. Most images you can find under > Volcanic Hot springs, or pools etc, show a lot of variety, but not much in the way of Bethesdas radioactive\algae super-bloom green.
In any event, the new coloration is far better and a lot less of an assault on the eyes.
You inspired me to post my own Watercolor and transparency correction for RW2. It complements your colors quite nicely imo (I make no changes to yours).
I like the color, but I'm hesitant because of how thicc/plastic-y it seems to look as it doesn't have much transparency. I've had the pleasure of seeing prismatic pools - a common theme is the super-hot water is super-clear - it looks thinner than water.
Not sure how doable it is with this much color, I've never edited water. But the hue looks pretty good, I just wish it was a lot more see-through.
Trust me, I agree 1000%. About half the time I spent on this was tweaking the transparency to try to make it as clear as possible, and surprisingly this is better than it was earlier. Unfortunately the CK’s preview of water is horrible so it’s difficult to tell if what you’re doing is actually making a difference.
But you’ve inspired me to try again - perhaps there will be an update today

Oh my gosh you have no idea how much this was bothering me. XD Seriously, thank you.

I could see this happening if you installed this mid save after generating LOD

BTW - I'm a huge fan of Glorious Fort Dawnguard, thanks for that port :)
I've been looking into completely remaking Glorious Fort Dawnguard but it's way above my pay grade for now...
EDIT: nvm, I was using an older version of RW just needed to update
