About this mod

A Collection of custom weapons built for Skyrim VR and enhanced combat mechanic mods like Weapon Throw VR. The package aims to improve on the variety of weapons in the world of Skyrim to add a bit of flavour to combat in a lore friendly way.

[This mod is made specifically with VR in mind, while the weapons can be imported into regular SE; alignments etc. will be off and I will not be making a separate version. Weapon Throw VR is a HARD REQUIREMENT. Weapon throwing physics, effects and scripts are all handled on that side and won't function without it.]

This mod aims to add more diversity to the weapons in Skyrim while bringing back some old favourites from the previous titles along with a variety of weapons from different cultures around the world and introducing them in a lore friendly way. Each of the weapons will follow the traditional material archetypes that you know and love using blended up-scaled textures of the original assets as to give them a familiar feel. The new weapons are all craftable and can also spawn in Blacksmith's inventories when you reach the relevant level. All weapons have custom made physics and collision boxes

I will continue to develop the mod to bring flavour to combat which will work well with mods like VRIK for body holsters and real-time weapon switching and Weapon Throw VR which allows the throwing of any weapon with configurable variables (weapons are integrated for appropriate physics and mechanics when thrown thanks to the author Shizof). The current pack includes:

  • Firearms - 4 New guns, inlcuding: Flintlock + Turret Pistols, A Flintlock Rifle, A Sawn-Off Shotgun and a Grenade Launcher. Each having a set of various munitions (Musketballs, Steel, Silver, Bleed, Poison, Fire, Frost, Shock, Stun and Solar). - Thank you to J3X for his automatic crossbow script for helping make the multishot guns possible!
  • 9 Kunai & 9 Shuriken - Let out your inner ninja and use them for sneak attacks or to hinder during combat.
  • 9 Katars - A set of arabic Katar weapons.
  • 9 Kamas - Nine Kama weapons to complete your shinobi arsenal.
  • 11 Grenades - While there are some grenade mods out there a lot of them are incompatible with Skyrim VR and don't translate well. Using Weapon Throw
they feel natural and are gauged by how you throw them. Currently there are 3 elemental damage types (Fire/Frost/Shock) that come in both regular and    mini variants along with two grenades for Poison and Healing. Now with 3 Jeweled variants of the Holy Hand Grenade (Timed with unique accompanying effects
  • 10 Chakrams - Nine Chakram weapons For all you Xena fans.
  • 9 Spears - Nine Spear/Javalin weapons that are essentially just Kunai on sticks but make a handy heavier alternative throwing weapon. (Thanks to Rally for the Iron spear stick texture).
  • 11 Boomerangs - A collection of 10 boomerangs to complete the material archetypes along with a bonus Dovah'rang.
  • 9 Miscellaneous Items  - Wine Bottles (Will have smashing effects at some point), Rocks/Pebbles (Pebbles currently knock down, this will be ammended), Attunement Spheres, Soulgems, 3 potions (no scripts attached yet) Snowballs (More of a toy than a weapon really, but why not?).

I shall be adding more weapon types as I go along once I have made a variant for each of the crafting materials and along with more complex utility based items as I gain more experience with the development kit. The weapons I have in mind and tweaks I have in the works for future releases are:

  • VRIK Integration - For placement of weapon nodes that use special physics like spinning (While special physics are implemented but due to the nature of how the weapons spin we can't currently move the weapons without affecting the throwing system).
  • Miscellaneous Throwing Items - This will include random things like rocks/stones, sticks, snowballs, soulgems, attunement orb and anything else fun I can think of.  I like the range of miscellaneous mods out there and some make for great projectiles already but the problem is usually the lack of bloodmeshes or custom collision.
  • Mines and Utility Items - Mines of damage types similar to the grenades and maybe some status effects. Also more utilitarian items like caltrops, smokebombs and flashbangs.

VR Arsenal (optional)- List Maker Patch by Timboman
For use with Synthesis & List Maker

What Does This Patch Do?
This Patch file when used in conjunction with Listmaker automatically
distributes the various tiers of VR Arsenal weaponry into the appropriate
Leveled List Entries in Skyrim.

How Do I Use This Patch?
  • Download VR Arsenal & add it to your load order.
  • Download the latest "ListMakerTemplate.esp" file from the List Maker Github Page & add it to your load order.
  • Download the patch file "VRA - Listmaker Patch.esp" & add it to your load order. If you want to save space on your load order you may now also merge ALL of your Listmaker patches and the original "ListMakerTemplate.esp" file into a single ESP via zMerge or a Bashed Patch before continuing.
  • Download the latest release of Synthesis and launch it (if using MO2 make sure you're launching it from within that application)
  • Add the "Listmaker" patcher to your Synthesis patcher queue via it's built in search functionality. If it is not visible check the "Show All" box in the bottom left of the window.
  • Run Synthesis to generate your "Synthesis.esp"

Make Sure that the plugins mentioned above are sorted in this general order within your Load Order:
  • VR Arsenal.esp
  • ListMakerTemplate.esp
  • VRA - Listmaker Patch.esp
  • Synthesis.esp

Other Plugins MAY be between these ESP files but as long as this general order holds true everything should function correctly.
Additionally Synthesis.esp should be one of the LAST plugins in your load order,
with the only plugins that should superseded it being ones like
DynDOLOD.esp or zEBD.esp
