Works like a charm. I don't care about the chaurus, it didn't bother me that much.. but the damn portal?? For the love of Mara, why? It took the pleasure of exploring a new abode completely. Huge thank you!
I don't mind the chaurus but why the portal was given sound effects when the house is small and you can't get away from the noise is beyond me. Thank you for this.
Don't you just love it when you think of some annoyance in the game that could be improved, and you look on Nexus to find just the mod that does exactly what you want?
I agree with everyone that posted previously. So much thanks and appreciation for this one simple mod that should eliminate 2 major annoyances that made me shun away from ever using Myrwatch. Now it should be much more enjoyable and a very functional player home.
EDIT: The chaurus keeps spawning for me. The noise inside the house is greatly reduced, so that part is working though. I am not sure what the problem is with the chaurus continuing to spawn instead of a deer as it is supposed to. Could this be a mod conflict? I don't think I have anything installed that changes anything anywhere near where Myrwatch is located. Seeing as nobody is reporting problems, this must be unique to my game, I suppose, but I am not sure how I can find conflict, if it exists.
Could be an issue with installing the mod mid game, if you did that. Although way back when I made this mod, the only issue I encountered when installing mid game was if the chaurus was alive when it was switched to deer, it would look like deer afterwards but still behave like chaurus and use chaurus animations. It was a bit of a nightmarish sight. I don't recall any spawns after that having issues.
If anything were to conflict, it would have to be another mod that specifically changes the Myrwatch chaurus or deers in general. You can check for any Myrwatch conflicts easily with SSEEdit if you want. Just load up all the mods you are using and check the QuietMyrwatchPortal.esp. You'll have to keep clicking for a bit under the Worldspace category to get to the chaurus part.
Thanks! The place is now much more enjoyable with the portal not as loud and I deeply hate chauruses, they make me higly uncomfortable and now having one respawning outside my door is a real relief.
I just started playing Skyrim last month and the portal hum was annoying af. Thank you for making this - if I hadn't found your mod I was going to request that somebody look into making one.
