Check if the meshes and textures exist. There are supposed to be 56 files in each of these folders:
      meshes\TESL-LoadingScreens
      textures\TESL-LoadingScreens
If some are missing, try to reinstall the mod.
If there are still missing files, tell me what options you selected in the FOMOD. As a temporary fix you can also install it manually. MO2 has a very nice manual installer that lets you pick which folders to install.

I just tested Nordic UI and I think that's it. Default seems to hide loading screen meshes, but with both other options you will have them.

For those using MO2(Issue probably not mod manager specific) that might have the same issue I had that it was just a black screen for loading screens.

Download the mod manually, make a new archive with the textures from the Main folder and the meshes and esp from the aspect ratio and message frequency folder of your choice, install the new archive from file in your MO2 and it should work perfectly.

    Hello,

Solution for 3440 x 1440 p, 21:9 users. I have done the trial and errors for the past few hours so you may not have to.
Wanted outcome = pictures covers the whole screen and looks decent enough without cropping essential parts of the wallpapers.
As of version - 1.2.0 the ultrawide does not work and the pictures do not cover the whole screen. Maybe intentional but I prefer that it covers.
Many pictures are also 16:9 and of course are very small on the 21:9 wide screen.

    >You will need nifskope(its easy and repetitive once you do the first one, trust me).
    >Open the legends folder, go to meshes>TESL-LoadingScreens> then open top nif file with nifskope. For me top file was (LG-cardart-A_Land_Divided.nif).
    >There are 2 main shapes it seems. the ultra wide shapes(it will be obvious by shape - this file we are on- the LG-cardart-A_Land_Divideed.nif for example is ultrawide) whereas the second file (a_night_to _remember.nif ) is not ultrawide and their settings that we will alter will differ.
    >lets focus on the top(current) nif file only for now.
    >The screen on the right may look empty at first. Just hold click anywhere on the empty screen and drag up or down slightly to change perspective angle so the purple/pink shape is visible.
    >Click on the purple/pink shape.
    >On the left menu, click on scale and type 1.4
    >No need to change anything else. ctrl+s and close.
    >Any ultrawide shape that is all we do to cover the whole screen. Simple.
    >When you open a nif and see the purple shape, it will be obvious what screen it is made for.

Now for Pictures that are not ultrawide but we want to cover the whole ultrawide 3440x1440 screen.
    Solution-
    >Lets open second file (LG-cardart-A_Night_to_Remember.nif)
    >Click on purple shape
    >Click scale 1.9- will be just enough to cover the screen.
    >Then on translation just above scale and rotation, type 10 or 10.0 (decimal does not matter) for X axis.
    >We do this because the shapes are off center by 10 horizontally by default for unknown reasons.
    >Now we change the Y value to -10.
    >Why? because it seems when it is too zoomed in(scale 1.9 is a big zoom to cover the screen), it crops the pictures a lot.
    >Most of the art in this mod seems to have the center of attraction such as peoples faces, near the top.
    >So when we set value of Y axis to -10 it moves the picture in the loading screen lower to a point where the essential parts of the picture isn't cropped out.
    >That is for majority of the non ultrawide nifs.
    >You can ignore this but confusingly some non ultrawide nifs will infact benefit from 0 on Y axis or even +10 as their center of attraction of the image is near the bottom.
    >But those are only a handful, which you can change manually when you see it live when its loading(its subjective preference).(added them at the bottom now)
    >Ctrl+s and close.
    >Now do it for rest of the nifs.

    Tldr solution-
    >if(the wallpaper shape looks ultrawide on nifskope) then set scale to 1.4 on to cover the whole 3440x1440p screen.
    >Else(the wallpaper shape looks like it was made for 16:9 screens) then set scale to 1.9 and x axis to 10 and Y to -10.
    >With this, the wallpapers will cover the whole screen and wont look too cropped out, as the center of focus of the image is still visible.
    >And a few handful of non ultrawide images can also benefit from leaving the Y value 0 or even +10 depending on what part of the image you prefer gets cropped out. But again, majority will benefit from Y axis -10 and having the bottom cropped out. (Exceptions at the bottom)
    >Non 3440x1440p, 21:9 users can also benefit from the above information and just change scale and the X and Y values and play around.

    >Bonus- use SSE display tweaks config file to allow loading screens and also on Nordic UI settings in case you have blank/empty loading screens.  Use new Dear Diary black version to change level counter bar to black/non vanilla and font to yellow gold-ish; it looks good.

    Hope this helps somehow.
    Edit: spelling. my 6am autism

2nd edit: For perfectionists or ocd people. The following Cardart nif files benefit from default or different Y values :-
    soul_shred y value = 0
    Elixir_of_Illusion y=-5
    kill_the_Messenger y=0
    alduin y=0
    gateslayer_Axe y=0
    Fingers_of_the_Mountain y=0
    Tullius'_Conscription y=-5
    poisoned_dagger y=0
    Elixir_of_Potency y=-5
    Amulet_of_Mara y = +10
    Web y=+10
    Explore y=+10
(+10 because the center of attraction of the image is near the bottom so we want it elevated by 10 points in the loading screen)

    Regards
    Luci

Can you post before/after images of your changes?
For reference, this is how a 16:9 screen is supposed to look on 3440x1440 when you select the 21:9 option: image

Hello. I do have the current(after) screenshots. I shall link here. The before images, you can imagine looking like what you sent, with black bars. Majority even had black bars on top and bottom originally too.

Black bars are only supposed to appear on two sides. Either left and right or top and bottom. If you have them on all 4 sides, then are two reasons:
      1. If one pair of black bars is very small, then this might be some small errors in how the meshes are generated and that will hopefully be fixed in the next version.
      2. If the black bars are big, then something in your setup is causing loading screens to be scaled differently. For instance the ini setting bBorderless=0 will mess with loading screen scaling. This is how it looks like, if loading screens are scaled differently: image

      Yes I understand.
I do not have any issues with the ini settings or mesh generation.
This is just a small tip for people who do not want any black bars, whether its intentional or not. There have been plenty of requests even outside of this mod. It's a subjective personal preference.
Thank you for the mod. Its made loading screens more fun.

Could you ask for permission to post this?  I like what you've done but I don't have the time to do it as per your clear instructions?  Maybe Jampi0n could post in optional files?   In any case, great mod.

Yeah I don't mind. I can give the whole legends folder to Jampi0n if they want. It should have the updated values that I've been using for ultrawide 21:9 3440x1440p. Haven't tested on other resolutions but similar aspect ratio should look identical.

I can add them as an optional file. You can also send me only the nif files, because many file sharing services only allow low file sizes and the textures are much bigger than the meshes.

Thanks, it's now available as an optional file.

Zoomed in meshes to prevent black bars is actually something I already have implemented for future versions. I just need to find a way to configure the center of attraction of an image, so the repositioning can also be done automatically for all aspect ratios. Then people will be able to choose between seeing the full loading screen but having black bars or getting a zoomed in loading screen without black bars.

Where did you find the images used for these load screens? I did a search for TESL artwork I found mostly just 512 x512 pixel images. The
only larger images I found were watermarked and in a square ratio as well. If your 2kx2k images are upszied from .5k, they turned out very well considering (there is a bit a artifacting, not not excessively so).

TESO load screen images, in comparison, are easily found and are 1650 x1080, smaller than most people's monitor resolution but large enough to be upsizable without blurring/artifacting too much.

This page has a lot of images: https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Category:Legends-Card_Art_Images
As far as I remember I only used the higher resolution ones and upscaled them with ESRGAN.

I adore this mod, and use it in conjunction with Oblivion Like Loading Menus, so good. I did have one instance where a regular 3D Model load screen showed up though (With the 100% setting), it was the Whiterun Shield if that is helpful at all.

I know about this. I wrote an article goes into detail about how the game chooses loading screens.
Unless you outright remove conditional vanilla loading screens one by one (by making their conditions impossible), there is always a tiny chance that they will appear.
It's something I want to address, but I have to think about how to do it in the most compatible way.

This mod is a must-have for me, I am curious as I spend a lot of time in Xedit, there are some conditions added by the Unofficial SSE patch and I am wondering if I should patch those in, or does TES Loading screens already have a similar function? AFAICT they add conditions to check on quest stages so that you do not get the wrong load screen.

This mod doesn't use quest conditions, so all loading screens have the same chance to appear. You can of course add quest conditions yourself if you want, but I don't think it's worth the effort, because it has to be done by hand. Most players have been playing Skyrim for a while, so spoilers about certain quests or guilds are no issue.

    Hey Jampion!
Your mod is absolutely amazing! I love it! :D

I did have a question, I was wondering if there was some way to increase the size of the text or move it to the bottom of the screen?
I'm playing on a big tv and sitting several feet away due to needing a recliner.
If not, or that it would take an insane amount of work, no worries :)

Thanks for the awesome mod! :D

The text size/position depends on your UI mod.
This is an example of a completely different layout. I'm using Dear Diary Dark Mode by the same author, but I think it has the same size as vanilla.
UI mods are generally hard to make, because you need specific tools to edit interface files, so I can't help you there.

Excellent mod, I love it ! Do you know if it would be possible to have a "zoom" effect to give more life to the loading screens ? The vanilla ones have this kind of effect on their 3d model, I wonder if it would be possible on this mod.

I tried it, it's great! I really love the new amazing artwork, they are super lore-friendy, 1000% much better of the vanilla 3d models!
This is something the vanilla game should have from the first place.
This mod should be part of any Guide!
