Version 2.0 is here! This is the update with a new main OAR file, which will be the only main file supported from now on. Please read change logs for more information!

Initially, troubadore11 had provided an OAR file, which served as my jumpstart into OAR. While this new one was made from scratch with different configs, please give them a big thanks and kudos for their effort in helping out!

So I like your mod, but the looping of animation 2 looks kind of funny, waggling their fingers in and out rather quickly, is there a way to make the looping less obvious?

They're unchanged vanilla animations, so no, not within my abilities.

Sorry to bother, but what is that female character? Is she a follower?

I'd like to use all 3 animations with OAR, but I'd only like it to be used by males. Is this possible with any of the current releases?

You should be able to do that in the OAR menu I believe.

Apologies if this is a dumb question but - is the new OAR file still compatible with CHIM's npc animation remix? I'm not too familiar with how OAR works, so I'm not sure if it combines them out of the box or if one needs to be abandoned in favor of the other.

This is mentioned in the description, but it's semi-compatible. CHIM's mod also contains modified Jarl sitting animation, but since OAR usually takes priority, those animations may not play because mine are present in OAR format. However, everything else from CHIM's mod will work properly, so technically it "combines" in that way.

I'm using CHIM's mods as well, so no reason to uninstall one or the other. Old DAR file is still available if you want to go back to that.

Okay I'm not sure if it's just with me, but with the OAR version the vanilla animation does not play. It actually starts playing for just a second and then switches to the 1st animation from this mod. I assume it's because of the problem OAR has with randomized animations. As a workaround I extracted the vanilla animation and placed in this mod's folder then it kinda solved the issue since it added it to the rotation.

All in all three animations are still better than one if one does not wish to do this I guess, it's just a minor issue, so thanks for this!

Yeah the OAR version doesn't have the vanilla one possible I think. I'll have to check, and when I can, I'll update it in the near future to make it possible for vanilla to play!

EDIT: Can you try the update file to see if it works?

Oh thanks for the answer, but tried and still the same thing for me unfortunately, it does feel like the vanilla animation went from a second to 2-3 before switching to another one, but that might be just my imagination.

Edit: Still don't feel pressured to work on it, personally I don't think it's a big deal and adding the vanilla one to the rotation basically did the same thing for me anyway.

This is a good learning experience for me anyway, since I mostly switched to OAR. I'll keep testing to see if I can get some good results!
Thank you for the feedback <3

EDIT: Please try version 2.0 and let me know if it works! I've completely changed the OAR settings. All animations should have 25% chance of playing, including vanilla. Try to sit, get up, and sit again multiple times to see if vanilla animation ever pops up.

great animations! is the Randomized version supposed to change the sitting pose every couple of seconds or is there something wrong with my game?

It's a known issue with users of older OAR version. Have you update to the latest version of OAR?

I updated OAR, and also edited the filepaths to use the Versions feature of OAR and one of those fixed it for me! Thanks!

      Of course! I did:

Jarl Sitting Animation Replacer - Randomized\meshes\actors\character\animations\DynamicAnimationReplacer\_CustomConditions\72010001\female\_variants_special_jarlchairidlewr\[Put female animations here]

      and

Jarl Sitting Animation Replacer - Randomized\meshes\actors\character\animations\DynamicAnimationReplacer\_CustomConditions\72010001\male\_variants_special_jarlchairidlewr\[Put
      male animations here]

Disclaimer that this is my first time fiddling with OAR, so I might have done something incorrect, or there might be a better implementation

Okay, ignore everything above, that was all probably completely wrong. I made a proper OAR Randomized version that I've tested ! I can send you a copy if you would like.

Realize I'm late to the party, but troubadore11's original approach using _variant_ is actually good. Just an issue with folder pathing. I've been using _variant myself for the Jarl sitting replacer and it works great.

Yep it was good! It's just that my tiny head couldn't wrap around some of the new features, so I just went into a "DAR-style" route XD

I know there is a DAR version. But can/should I use the OAR version If I also use NPC Remix?

The only issue I think could occur is that the OAR version will take priority over NPC Remix for those Jarl animations, but I don't think I can fix that because of how OAR prioritizes OAR-structure mods over DAR-structure "Legacy" mods. The only way to properly make them 100% compatible in a way, I believe, is for CHIMGarden to make OAR versions of their mods.

Just to be sure, you may want to keep using the DAR version to keep that compatibility. Verify that you have the latest version of OAR so that you don't get the looping bug.

I THINK the 'no looping animation' version of NPC animation overhaul doesn't include the jarl sitting animation so should work fine with the OAR version of this mod.

I have a question, is the Jarl Sitting Animation Replacer - OAR Randomized?  If I want to Randomize, should I use Jarl Sitting Animation Replacer - Randomized?

They're basically the same. As the file's description says, "Same as Randomized, but made with OAR's structure."
