Update 2.0 adds Alduin and the Legendary dragon from Dawnguard (that shares the normal map of the "regular" dragons). I also added a reduced version which resizes the main textures to 4K for people with limited VRAM.
RUSTIC DRAGONS SE is now live with its first group of dragons, the "common" dragon, frost, blood, elder, ancient, and Odahviing. These 6 dragons all share the same normal map texture.
More to come in that not too distant future. Please leave your comments and questions below, and please remember to endorse the mod if you like it.
I hope these textures add a little more excitement to your Skyrim experience.
Hey I have an issue where when I absorb a dragon soul their skin doesn't burn off gradually like in vanilla but instead just instantly goes skeletal after the soul's absorbed.
That's because he didn't do the alpha maps properly on his textures and meshes. There's a guy who did the soul absorb fix for GOT dragons and diverse dragons and he explained that the alpha maps have to have white and black textures and meshes so that it can properly go transparent. Most modders don't do this with either their textures or their meshes or both, causing the texture to just pop out of existence.
I don't understand why, but with my new playthrough, Odahviing has regular dragon textures. It says he's edited by Ultimate Shouts, but Ultimate Shouts doesn't modify his textures at all. Should I try to manually make a path with the textures for Alduin in the Ultimate Shouts mod?
Edit: Okay, I figured it out, at least on my end. I use MO2, so you need to put any mods that edit Odahviing BELOW Ultimate Shouts in the right pane with the .esp files. It was a headache, but I managed to figure it out. Hope this helps someone!
You must be really at the limit of your VRAM usage. I mean even in 8K these textures don't make the game. Landscape textures, mountain textures, sky textures and mods that add new objects as JK's Skyrim + HD LODs (xLODGen for terrrain + DynDoLOD for objects) cost VRAM and make the game. You should be really fine with 4k Dragons, even on potatoe systems. Otherwise: The mod Bellyaches Dragons (available also for SE/AE) uses 2k textures...
I know it might be so late to ask this, or this has been asked before but do I still need "Bellyaches HD Dragon Replacer Pack (SE)" mod if I install this one?
Are you still working on this mod, or will there be no more updates? I have been following him since the beginning of autumn. And since then there has been no progress ...
If anyone else wants some consistency for Parthurnax, you can just repurpose a texture used for another dragon. Just create a folder in textures\actors\parthurnax and place the texture there with the name parthurnax.dds.

Bellyaches still has some other improvements.
