    Version 1.3
For users of the Standalone Lore Version, please download update to version 1.3 in the main files.
    - fixed some crafting bugs
    - added option for heavy armor version
    - added option to convert between light to heavy and back (as suggested by user NeOniq, thank you)
    - fixed mechanics on obtaining Alduin's scales (Read description page)

No changes for the Replacer Version.

I provided an optional Brighter version for both Standalone and Replacer version. This updates the env map to make the armor shine more thus brighter. The effect will be more visible to those using ENB and lighting effects mods.

Add one option of weapon would be nice! Something like you could craft only a bow and a melee weapon and nothing more, to make it unique.

Weaponry that matches the set would be really nice.

Just found this whilst browsing through the Nexus, and what a great idea for an armour set! Looking forward to getting it from beating Alduin.

Any way to add a jagged crown looking version as head gear? I always thought it looked like an awesome fit for Light Armor.

Not gonna lie...this is incredible! I love the look of the textures and finally we get something for defeating Alduin. I've pretty much put off doing the main quest because I really never felt that there was a worth wild reward at the end aside from completing the main story. Now I want to just go through the entire story just to get this sweet armor! Thank you so much for this! :D

Edit: I tested it out in game and while I love this idea...I do have one problem. I feel it's just a bit too dark. I understand Alduin is a black dragon, but when you make the armor too dark then you loose all the finer details to it. I admit I am using an ENB/Lighting Mods. However they make my game more bright and the armor is still too dark. So, yes. Probably the only request I'd like to make is if we could get a bit of a lighter version? Something that allows us to see the detail in the armor. Otherwise this armor looks great! Thank you for all the hard work you put into it! :)

Thanks. Yeah its a good reward for the effort fighting alduin. Regarding the color, I intended it to be black like alduin hence its very dark. I can make an env map adjustment to make a lighter version

Okay. Maybe that might work. :) Like I said, it's a great armor. It's just in my game it's mostly pitch black and you can't really see the detail on it. Anything to help make it lighter would be great! :)

Hey! So I tried the optional brighter env...annnnd I'm so sorry, but it still seems too dark for me. I'll post screenshot links in this comment and I hope you can see where I'm coming from. I admit it must be my ENB. I'd hate to get rid of my lighting mods/ENB, but at the same time it is kind of hard to enjoy the armor when it's nearly pitch black. I admit I don't really know what else can be done aside from tweaking the color. But yeah, just thought I would report on this. I'm really sorry to make such an issue out of it. I know you put alot of hard work into it and in your screenshots it looks fantastic! Sadly my game just keeps having the issue.

Thanks for the screenshot, that was helpful. I'll see what other options I can change to improve brightness across different systems

I'd have to say I am having the same result - even when using the 'brighter' files it's still pretty dark. Another ENB user here ofc. Interestingly when I copied my Bodyslide output meshes to the new file path that totally changed the look of the armor, making it much brighter (especially in the sun) and changing the tone of the trim parts. Maybe something with the mesh as it is is contributing to the darkness? i am very much an amateur when it comes to all that, just sharing FWIW.

I was originally going to post a sad comment about how the mod doesn't work at all, but then discovered that a fixed version of the standalone armor was posted the day after I originally downloaded it, lol.

Weird problem though: the Light version seems to provide better armor rating than the Heavy version. Not sure if the values shown are supposed to be the base value or are they adjusted for my perks?

The armor rating is the same. The difference will be due to your character's light armor stat being higher or perks that affect light armor

Hi, skyrimaguas! I have a suggestion if you don't mind You could add a converting recipe into heavy and backwards - into light armor. For example, you can take one of Billyro's weapon mods as an example.

I love this idea, though t looks weirdly dark in my game even with the brighter version, though I think it's because I use a super subtle enb so I don't have all the pretty lighting effects others have. I also feel like 5% buff to crit damage for every dragon soul seems a little op, I feel like 1% would be more balanced personally though that's probably just me. Very cool mod though, those are just personal preference based nit picks

Please post images on the mods image gallery for reference so I can address the issue :).

As for the set bonus: Remember this is a late-game item that is very difficult to get the materials for crafting. So I set the bonus to be really useful for the late-game high level playthrough because at that level you probably already have lots of other powerful items.

I'll post a picture as soon as I can. As for the soul thing, I think I just kinda imagine if you had like 50 souls you would end up with a 250% buff, but I guess that's not that much for crit damage, that would only be a lot for regular damage. Irrelevant of the percentage itself though, it's an absolute genius idea for a buff, because often once I've maxed out my shouts I'll avoid dragons because souls are useless, but this mod is a huge game changer in making them useful, as well as making the player consider not buffing their shouts for more raw crit damage, so kudos on that genius idea.

Yes. In simple terms, 50 dragon souls will increase critical damage by 2.5x there are other Vanilla perks that give same critical damage boost and are easier to get. But, the scaling factor makes this effect more powerful though. For this to be really ovepowered, you need to do some work for it -- kill more dragons. :)

You're absolutely right. The more I thought about it the more I realised it isn't overpowered.

Got excited, thought this was a port of https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/11259?tab=description

Question though: if I retexture Alduin, does the armor get retextured to fit what my Alduin looks like?

This is totally different/new. I wasn't aware of that previous mod.
Main difference aside from the appearance is the better quest integration, my version does not spawn a "fake" Alduin and requires you to get the scales from the real Alduin. And of course, the cool armor set bonus that represents Alduin's power over the souls of dragons.

Changing Alduin's textures won't affect this mod.

This is very cool. Exactly the kind of content I want more of in my game. I'm rather obsessed with long difficult grinds. I've been a souls fan for years now and I love high difficulty as well as a high leveling potential for the main character. Also being a lore freak paired with some subtle OCD makes me very picky-choosy with mods. With that said this mod perfectly scratches my itch.

If you were perhaps looking to expand on this a bit I'd be very interested in helping. On my profile is a link to a weapon I made from scratch for Skyrim. I enjoy the 3D art portion of the mod creation but lack at the actual gameplay implementation part. Feel free to message me if you'd want to collaborate to make some unique matching weapons to go with this armor.
