About this mod

This simple mod reduces the amount of septims you get for turning in ore, to either half or one-fifth the base value. ESL-flagged.

Permissions and credits
In vanilla Skyrim, turning in ores rewards you with the full base value of the ore*. This makes no sense if you think about it. How are the mine owners turning a profit if they're paying their miners full price for the ore?

What this mod does is reduce the amount of septims you get for turning in ore to mine owners, to either half or one-fifth the base value*.

There are two variants:
  • HALF - you get 50% the value of the ore upon turning it in. For instance, turning in gold ore nets you 25 septims. Unless you have high Speech skill, this should still be more lucrative than selling it to a merchant. This is the one I personally use.
  • HARDCORE - you get 20% the value of the ore upon turning it in. For instance, turning in gold ore nets you 10 septims. This is probably more realistic but might make mining no longer worth your time.

* There is one exception to this general rule: iron ore. In vanilla, turning in iron ore gives you 7 septims each, even though its base value is only 2. I've set the turn-in value for iron ore to 2 and 1 per ore respectively.

Note that this mod does not change the base value of ores, only how much you get for turning them in to mine owners such as Kjeld in Kynesgrove or Skaggi Scar-Face at Left Hand Mine.
