Any chance this will get a parallax with the new update?

    Texture work is incredible....

These textures with Mythical ENB (full maxed settings) /Weathers work exactly how I like it.
I have CleverCharff's farmhouse textures (and caves and forts/dungeons) and they're the best in my eyes for Mythical+ELFX.
The glint of quartz-green-quartz as light passes over the cave and nordic textures is at times mesmerizing and also gives the chamber in the first DragonStone encounter 'space and cavernousness' which was not there with other textures.
I get that same effect on the stone floor of the farmhouses- it creates a sort of spaciness that 'Noble Skyrim' seems to remove with a micro-mozaic print.

I tried this mod once (few months ago). Everything was fine except doors and puzzles pillars were like they are in very low resolution. But I will try this mod again, and see if I can somehow fix this problem.

I saw RayMaster901's comments, which peaked my interest. So I downloaded the 4k version to see if what he was saying was true.

    Sadly it was.

I've only looked at the files in the Ruins folder plus a few others, and aside from "ruinslongtable.dds", everything I've opened has been over-upscaled, over-sharpened and covered in noise. I have mentioned this to you in the past.

When you upscale an image, there are diminishing returns. It can be a solution if you have something of quality to start with, however if you have a low quality image, all you're doing is making a bigger low quality image. All of your files are plastered in upscaled compression artefacts and the normal maps are just butchered and blown out at this point. There is no definition, but rather a high resolution, low quality mass of blurred and blended colours.

I know this comes across as harsh, but there is no other way to explain it. If you can't get a crisp, clear result, then the only thing you're doing is wasting peoples VRAM, since this quality of imagery won't look any better than a 1024x1024 counterpart.

Please take extra time in making sure your work is high quality. Use the 100% viewing mode in photoshop to check your work, since at 50% it may appear fine. If the quality sucks, don't use it. If you have no alternative, then try making your own.

Just remember Clevercharff, it is not a race, you do not need to churn mods out as quickly as possible, since spending less time almost always equates to less quality.

Ah, I was wondering why some of my textures had weird shimmery dots all over them. CleverCharff, you might want to check some of the walls in your High Hrothgar retexture (4K) and some floors too (can't remember where). Just remember, all the criticism is constructive, stay positive and use the critiques to make your work better. People love your mods and that's why they're commenting.

Edit: The floors are from "CleverCharff's Farmhouse Stone Floors 4K - 2K". I have the less shiny and darker textures installed. Look great, but there's a lot of noise.

Very well said. I hope CleverCharff doesn't take it too personal. Your work (like JS Barenziah) is a perfect example that there's levels to texture mods

I love a lot of Clever's work and followed him since he started, but I agree with JS 100%. Too damn sharp and noisy

I don't understand what everyone's talking about in this thread. I tried all the Nordic ruins textures I could find and settled on this one. It looks the best to me on the interiors. What are the problem textures? The only CleverCharff mods that I thought didn't look right were the ones for Forgotten Vale / Snow Elf Ruins and High Hrothgar. Those two could use re-working. I think the caves and Nordic Ruins are hands down the best textures for those I could find.

This is a valid critique. I've downloaded a few of Clevercharff's 4K textures and have found them not to look better than their 2K versions, much to my confusion. Only after reading this comment did I finally clue in that 'charff likes to turn up the noise on some textures, especially stone surfaces, and that maybe these textures were being upscaled from 2K, resulting in the GIGO problem.

Nevertheless, I still marvel at 'charff's productivity, and some texture sets are truly top of their class among the 2K ones. Best caves, IMO, and Markarth, Apocrypha, and more... so I remain a big fan.

DAMN this texture pack is so good it had me staring at the walls of Dead Man's Respite for like a straight minute just taking in the scenery haha. Definitely going to download more from you. Can't wait to see what Bruma looks like with your retexture.

Agreed. Clevercharff's work is terrific because of the quality, but also that the retexured areas tend to be complete. Very little is left out so that you don't end up having to hunt elsewhere for any missing textures.

I think this looks great, good job. No idea what the issues below are talking about, I haven't seen any major problems with the textures in-game and I have not found a better looking Nordic Ruins texture mod yet. Tried Rudy one and didn't like it, it seemed too bumpy/detailed inside and hurt my eyes.

Ah, but have you tried the ones included in Underground - A Dungeon Texture Overhaul? Aside from the doors, which Tagtraumer didn't give much attention to, I think it's the very best for nordic ruins. It has a FOMOD so you don't need to install anything else if you don't want to.

Nice textures but I have problem. I prefer how Rudys nordic ruins look from outside (ruins and towers) but I like more how your textures looks from inside/interiors (only ruins not towers). Inside they look very very nice :). Would you consider packing up file for only ruin interiors (not towers)? Would it work?

You can do this easily by yourself by extracting the files from both into a folder and ZIP it into a mod for both. Or just install both and have the ones you want override (but it's probably easier to just create your own folder).
