This is gunna sound bumb but I know not to uninstall the mod but can I install the mod mid-play through? Ive only just started so if I have to make a new character I don't mind but Im playing it on an extremely modded hard difficulty and doing the golden claw quest would take a while.
Not 100% on this so don't take my word as fact, but I do believe that it should be fine if you have not killed the first dragon yet. Probably way too late seeing as it has been 26 days since you asked, but I hope this helps.
Should it be obvious the mod is working as soon as I start 'Paarthanax' quest? I'm not seeing any dialogue options from Delp/Enth to choose not to kill him. If that's normal great, but I want to check in case I progress a few hours with an unsolvable issue baked into my save...
I installed the mod late (after MQ and Alduin's bane) but from your response here it seems like that shouldn't be a problem?
You have to talk to them about him first, just like in vanilla, only you should get a quest objective to then go talk to him and then Arngeir. After that is when you'll have the option to spare him.
Hmmm, yeah the only quest objective showing in 'Paarthurnax' after starting it is 'Kill Paarthurnax'. Nothing about talking to Parth or Arngeir. I've exhausted all the dialogue options with Esbern and Delphine. There doesn't seem to be any conflicts with the quests/scripts you mentioned in xEdit either. Any suggestions?
Ok I think I'm on to something, the mod was showing as not active in the in-game mods tab, even though it was activated in MO2. Downgrading to v2.0.1 from here instead of using the mirror versions solved it and the mod worked as intended. Maybe something to do with 2.0.3 being available on the workshop? Since I'm not subscribed
I know its basically answered already, but I'll ask for the heck of it. My current character isn't touching the Dragonborn quest line at all past the Whiterun start. Would uninstalling this still cause issues mid run? I've enjoyed using this several times already because Bethesda's writing is hot garbage in vanilla, but I wanted to check out some alternate mods for this situation like Jayserpa's. No disrespect to this one of course but voiced stuff with his splicing skills is very compelling to use over this if possible. If not I'll simply wait for my next character.
Absolutely love this mod. It's simple and effective and most of all very good at what it does. I really love the dialogue for the Dragonborn where he starts speaking dragon at the beginning of his sentences, as though his dragon spirit has really started to blend with him and his dovah brethren's speech patterns have rubbed off on him.
Paarthurnax Quest Expansion has bugs and the mod author is kinda lazy so... You're better off with The Paarthurnax Dilema (Over 1 million downloads, the results speak for themselves.)
Ruthless savage?!?! HOW DARE YOU!! paarth is a cheat and a liar, the blades were right in killing that flying lizard and avenged all those people he helped enslave and kill, i am now using his bones as armour and a luxury dragonbone toothpick to clean my teeth with. Still though thanks for the mod its great <3
I used Amazing Follower Tweaks just so I could have Esbern and Delphine follow me up to Paarthurnax, I then shouted them both off the throat of the world. I have over 9k hours in this game, not once have I ever killed Paarthurnax, and never will. Hail Sithis, Sky Above and Talos guard you. You will be judged in the void.
Do you forget that paarth fought against his own nature, taught man to speak the thuum, betrayed alduin and is the reason alduin was defeated in the first place?
You are blind, now because of you alduin will win in the end
Haven't tried the mod yet, but looking forward to it. However, it's been my experience that redemption doesn't let you off the hook for past "indiscretions".
Yeah but he basically served several hundred years of solitary jailtime, along with promising to teach thuum and guide humans positively now. Sounds like he's reformed and essentially performing community service lol
Since the only reason humanity had a chance against Alduin was him, im pretty sure he should be let off the hook, hell, he should be remembered as someone with the same importance as the Dragonborn when the bards make a song about its adventures.
