Stefan Dalca, The Noble Mage of Shornhelm
"My name is Stef, I was born in Shornhelm, spent most of my life in prestigious mage academies across High Rock. I even attended dueling classes in Alcaire Castle!
I have recently come to Skyrim from Jehanna in search of a traveling companion who can show me all the grand sights of Skyrim, I've heard much about this land stooped in ancient mystery but most of what I've seen is from ancient dusty tomes."
Adds a small and fairly lightweight Breton companion to The Bee and Barb in Riften, he's primarily an elemental mage with a unique silver sword named Wyrdbane that he won't get rid of!
Stefan starts at Level 15 or so and is designed to scale with you, he has a custom outfit, a unique weapon and a few spells.
Works really well with Nether's Follower Framework. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/18076
Install: Just download with your normal mod manager or extract the archive to your data folder.
Usage: He's a simple follower, same voice as Marcurio, find him in The Bee and Barb. No cost to hire, pretty good fighter.
