Version 3.0.0 is now available. This is a substantial update which adds new matching weapons for the Gilded Ebony, Gilded Elven, Gilded Thalmor, Silvered Ebony, Thalmor, Thalmor Glass, and Vvardenfell Glass armors, including support for Animated Armoury and Heavy Armory. Additionally, Complete Crafting Overhaul Remastered, while still highly recommended, is no longer required to use the main version of this mod. Users of the previous "CCOR" version should be able to update without issue. "Non-CCOR" users determined to update mid-playthrough will lose any Content Addon equipment previously acquired and some actors may end-up unclothed until they reset.
Many thanks to Titanbass1 for his invaluable assistance with the 3.0.0 update, which included sourcing many of the assets used, mesh editing, testing, and lots of moral support, and also to the many authors whose assets were used in this update.
I have a question, am I supposed to only have access to the gilded and silvered ebony armors? I remember doing a playthrough about 1 year ago and then I had access to all 3. I'm using the CCOR addon
You should have all access to all three, although the third is just the vanilla ebony armor, retextured. If it's not showing up, I would guess another mod is either disabling the recipes or adding additional requirements to them.
I double-checked both in game and in the .BSA, and it does for me; no issues dropping it and picking it up again. I'd try redownloading the .BSA from the Book of Silence page and see if that fixes it.
This mods Description (following) threw me off a bit in relation to the updated sticky:
Based on this opening statement in the Description, I reasoned that anyone NOT running CCOR would have no use for this mod, but that's still incorrect based on the sticky.
Either way, this mod must be installed with aMB-BoS CCOR Content Addon, which may also be a bit misleading if CCOR is only a recommendation rather than a hard requirement ("CCOR CONTENT ADDON" seems like a bit of a misnomer).
Previously, the "No CCOR Requirement" option was a little more reassuring that CCOR wasn't a prerequisite, but the nomenclature was still a bit confusing prior to the update.
Is all of what I'm saying here accurate, and do you see what I mean?
That sounds accurate and I see what you mean. I've made some changes to the description and the file description to hopefully help clarify things; however, I don't have editing permissions on the Book of Silence page, so any references to the "CCOR CONTENT ADDON" will remain until kryptopyr is available to update that file name.
Sorry for any redundancy here, I am new to modding and Skyrim (I know how old the game is...and yes, I am ashamed to be playing this amazing game so late). For the Ebony mail variants, Do I need to have completed the quest in order to craft them? At first I had a mod that set the ebony mail to light and made it craftable which did show up with the updated textures but didn't have the guilded or silver variants. I removed that mod and now no ebony mail variants show up in the crafting menu. I really like the silver variant. Any help would be appreciated.
No worries, there's a lot going on with the Ebony Mail, and I really need to document all the options.
With this mod, there is a recipe to convert the Ebony Mail to a light version (which requires you to have the Ebony Mail in your inventory). In order for the Gilded and Silvered recipes to appear, you'll need to have an ingot of the appropriate type in your inventory, in addition to the Ebony Mail; this will unlock the recipes for the Gilded and/or Silvered versions for whichever weight the Ebony Mail currently is (Light or Heavy). There are also recipes to revert all these changes.
If you're using Complete Crafting Overhaul Remastered, it also contains recipes to convert the Ebony Mail to a light version and back again, but those recipes are disabled in favour of this mod's recipes if both mods are installed. Additionally, it also adds the ability to craft unenchanted replicas (both Light and Heavy) of the Ebony Mail, which require you to have the Ebony Mail in your inventory, but which produce a new, unenchanted set of armor. If both mods are installed, you can additionally craft unenchanted Gilded and Silvered replicas as well, again requiring an ingot of the appropriate type to be in you inventory for the recipes to display.
old versions didnt pop up a virus warning. but since i trust you, please dont encrypt my hard drive cause i havent made a backup in a couple weeks note to self. make back up. ps the mod rocks
Windows Defender seems to have it in for .7z archives lately. Several files I've downloaded recently have gotten flagged incorrectly. I promise we won't encrypt your hard drive!
Thanks for the update. I was also missing those Ebony Mail variants.
*note on the fomod installer. I've my own Glass thing going on, so I select None to Glass in the fomod, but this time it seems to install the vanilla glass armor anyway. Also, I'm not using AA or HA this time and did not select those in the fomod yet I'm still getting a handful of random items for those mods as can be seen here. Not sure if that's intentional, but just fyi.. thx!
were the gilded and silvered ebony mail removed in one of the recent updates? They are gone from the mod but I can't find anything about it in the changelog. I personally really loved them, so I am a bit sad to see them go Thanks!
Thanks for pointing it out! That was definitely unintentional; the EditorIDs identified them as "replicas" so we moved them into CCOR in the last update (unenchanted replicas being a CCOR thing), assuming that there were still proper variants in this mod.
I'll get them added back in the next day or two. Thanks again for the heads up; much appreciated!

So in summary:
Sound correct?
