Bing chat claims that using this patch will make Ordinator & Astral magic 2 compatible, but idk how true that is... Lol
anyone know if that's true & if I need elemental destruction to somehow make those 2 compatible?

If the description is correct, it says that Ionized Path (in destruction) effects shock & water spells, but Static Field and Electronconvulsions both effect shock & wind instead. Is that inconsistency the same in-game, or is it just a goofup in the description?

I had a quick look; I think all you need to do is to Drop and drag one field from the Actor value Information in XEdit, with the name AVDestruction (the field is at the bottom) There is also another conflicting value half way down, probably best to forward Ordinator's values to the patch.

It would be great if there was a version of this for EDM Redux (it has different FormIDs). I am examining this esp in Xedit to see how difficult this would be to refactor for EDM Redux.

Did you happen to do that yourself? If so, would you mind sharing the file?

Got another one to add to the comments in here. I *have* resaved the mod in CK to form 44 it and now i get this when trying to generate lods in dyndolod:

    [Window Title]
    DynDOLOD
    [Main Instruction]
    Unresolved FormID [6805E7D8]
    [Content]
Error in Elemental Destruction - Ordinator Patch.esp ORD_Alc_ElementalOil_Activator_WaterOil "Water Oil" [ACTI:68006616]
Click on this link for additional explanations and help for this message
FIX THE ERROR as explained in the help OR PERMANENTLY REMOVE THE BROKEN PLUGIN.
Ignore wrong "advice" to only temporarily disable plugins.
Do not try to circumvent the error message, FIX THE ERROR instead.
This is not a DynDOLOD error. DynDOLOD is not crashing.
There is an unresolved error in the mentioned plugin that needs to be fixed.

It doesn't affect anything if it's form 43 or 44 since it doesn't cause any issues and won't affect performance
I have done 2 complete playthroughs with Elemental Destuction Magic, Ordinator and this patch and everything was alright.

While the debate about the damage of form 43 mods in SE are... ongoing, and there's plenty of anecdotal evidence supporting and against it.
Converting to form 44 isn't a hard thing to do at all; how to do so is explained a few comments below this one.

However, what's not in debate is that this mod seems to be a direct port from oldrim. That it's outdated and only covers the abilities from the original release, there's been an update since then which adds a few more abilities and perks that are not covered in this patch. And I'm really hoping that someone eventually updates this patch, because I really like elemental destruction and I'm sad that the original mod author is so opposed to making a compatibility patch. :'(

I've tried to do it myself for several days now, but I'm woefully unequipped to handle it.

Yeah over time it does cause problems. Its why Mod Organizer has the ERROR immediately after adding the file. Its two different forms and they write to the save file differently.
