A simple patch to make Middle Earth Redone run smoother with less potential CTD and mod conflicts.

Features:

  • Changes the TESVMiddelearthII.esp to an ESM so it handles references better.
  • Fixes the FaceGen issues on some NPCs (Mostly Elven)
  • Fixes a deleted Navmesh in the TESVMiddelearthII.esp
  • Packs up hundreds of loose files into BSAs - cleaning up the data folder and reducing potential asset conflicts.
  • As a result, cuts down the size of the unpacked files by around 3GBs.

Unless you are running a version of Middle Earth Redone prior to 2.0 this patch is rendered obsolete. The contents of this patch are included in Middle Earth Redone 2.0. Install only if using an old version of the mod.

Requirements:

Middle Earth Redone SE

Installation:

Installing like an ordinary mod will NOT achieve the intended result. Please follow the video above for installation instructions. (There's only a few extra steps)

IMPORTANT: It's not mentioned in the video but after downloading Middle Earth Redone:
1. Download its update 1.0b file as well.
2. Copy the ESM from that update (Not the original as shown in the video) to your data folder.
3. Users of patch 1.0 will need the scripts folder from update 1.0b as well. Users of patch 1.1 can skip this step.
4. Continue to follow the video's installation instructions, copying the lodsettings and seq folders from the main file to your data folder.

FAQ:

Q: Do you intend to fix bugs within the mod's esp?
A: At the time no. This patch is intended to reduce CTD and conflicts, not address bugs within the esp. However this is subject to change in the future, depending on feedback.

Q: Does this fix every possible CTD with the mod?
A: No, there are still many asset-heavy areas which may cause CTD. But the likelihood has been reduced exponentially.

Seriously, I just cleaned it up a little. These two are the real heroes! They deserve all the Kudos/Endorsements you can conjure.
