Random question, can imagine the answer is obvious but it doesn't hurt to ask, does the hooded helmet count as light armor or clothing? Cause I'm looking at the preview image for it and it doesn't have the usual armor type labels other pieces usually have.
Thanks for the Nightingale version, now I don't have to make it... again. I made the Ebony Nightingale version for the for Oldrim. My replacer was just that, a replacer for the Nightingale Hood... so it was a messy implementation. It worked for me though.
Funny, been using Torturer's Hood for my Heavy female (killing chance at full-heavy perk, but oh well, gotta kill in style! ). Your Ebony (NG) Hood nails it.
Having choices is never a bad thing, I would love the idea if someone could make a mod where you could wear 2 sets of armour on a character, one that shows in game and one that does the in game protecting, like vanity armor. If you are going to save the world, might as well do it in style!
That would actually be really nice! You could wear banded iron armor and keep the Dragonborn aesthetic, meanwhile you're kicking ass protected by the strength of dragonbone!
I like that idea of attribute armor being masked by cosmetic armor (a reason I love Guild Wars 2). There are times when I love some of the more rustic, down-to-earth armor mods (like simple leather and chainmail), but they end up being useless in the late game because their stats are so limited. ^^; The kind of setup you're describing would be nothing short of neat. :3

Btw, I totally agree with you about the vanilla ebony helm. Now I wish there's a mod to replace ebony gauntlet pointy elbow thingies.
Reminds me a lot of Terraria.
