Hey everyone, I just wanted to address some rumors that all of my files are stolen. In the description section of my mods (including this one) you will find links to the individual textures I downloaded. Please feel free to cross examine them. I'll be doing this for all my future mods going forward as well. They'll always be listed in my Description section for anyone to see.
Hi, I hope you accept some constructive criticism, this is a great mod but it has some visual inconsistencies.
- The doors are replaced with that pushlock type thingy even in interiors (like Severin Manor) and it just looks out of place, since these doors are almost exclusively used as front doors, so they look very out of place in an interior. - The basalt cliffs look tiled/man made, which is not how basalt cliffs look in real life. I think they should resemble more the original natural looks. - The bricks for the houses detract from the "alien" feel of Raven Rock/Morrowind, since they look too "civilised'" or "man made" as well. The original smooth walls looked way more fitting.
I hope you don't get offended. I really meant it to be constructive.
Fantasy game, as in building made from giant insect chitin, not brick?
I love Charff's work so far, the farm houses in particular, but I do agree with some other people here: the huts really should be made of insect shells, not bricks.
I also agree, these textures look wonderful, but after playing Morrowind and seeing the homes look like they were made from brick is a bit jarring. @badsier it is a fantasy game, so them looking like they were made from brick takes away from the fantasy. Also, it is very inconsistent with Elder Scrolls lore. They should look smooth almost like a stucco - here are some pics from Ald'ruhn in Morrowind --
@lightsourced I agree about the lore... but the fantasy thing, obviously we don't share the same fantasy, which is ok with me, there should be room for different interpretations ;
And tbh those meshes doesn't look the slightest as giant insects, more like a medieval version of the Opera House in Sydney :D
I totally agree with you Laptoprocker, I was actually going to put a similar comment before I saw yours.
This is seriously good texture work, nobody can argue with that I guess. But when looking at the original design intent, or concept, something is just off. This is just another Skyrim. And the bricks are to me completely wrong here because these houses looks like they have been built from big insects shell or something found on the island already shaped this way, and that humans didn't actually came up with the shape idea. If they had bricks they would never have shaped it this way. We can actually see it in Raven Rock, new houses built with bricks are similar to classic brick house design.
I personally would prefer Skyrim concepts & design intents to be more respected, especially when it makes sense. But this is just my opinion among others.
Criticizing mod authors on Nexus is like walking on eggshells. If the author is not offended, the fans usually are. Constructive criticism is needed, unfortunately, nowadays it is taken as an insult. Fortunately, not every mod author is like that. For example, one author completely blocked me from his site because of one comment.
Hi, Clevercharff ! I've got an (unanswered) question for you : Where the Dunmeri urns textures we can see in the images come from, please ? Edit : It's "Ancient Pottery" !
Bro, your s#*! is top notch! You really need a Clever Charff's Skyrim Overhaul that has all your stuff in one massive DL! Keep it coming man, my Skrim looks better and better with every Clever Charff mod!
Upon entering Raven Rock the game crashes. Using the map for fast movement I find myself inside the city but most of the buildings have disappeared except the doors. What can I do? I would not want to miss the opportunity to use this fantastic Mod.
awesome mod, but maybe u can improve this => https://i.imgur.com/8Aii2nR.jpg
Would it be possible to add lines as you like made for the tiles but they are not all present, I find this necessary to mark the separation between the rubble and the tile
Excuse for the translation, but English is not my original language I am French. Your textures are simply wonderful, whether in 2k or 4k, and they are all compatible with each other. It's a shame that you removed Nordic Mountains that you created, I kept it but those who no longer have it must be disappointed not to have kept it, it's mountains are superb. I would like to know what you use as Landscape Landscape. I'm using Skyrim 3D Landscapes and so far I haven't had any problems, but I haven't done Dawnguard and Dragonborn yet, as I just re-textured a new game, and for now it's great . Continue like that, luckily there are modders like you, otherwise we would be playing with a bland game. Good continuation

basalt is not made out of square bricks.
The most important thing with textures IMO is the overall asthetics and vibe, and they are are spot on here...
