Finally got this working in VR using VR Keyboard (and requirements)- I have wanted this ability for so long - means I can name my favourite armour and weapons etc without having to enchant them - yay! Haven't had time to test whether names stay when reloading games yet but will post back my progress :)
UPDATE: In order for this to work in VR it requires Power of Three's Tweaks (and the .ini file) and Power of Three's Tweaks VR - although these are not listed as a requirement by any of the mods, but it doesn't work without them and it took me several hours to work out why is wasn't working... :)
How did you get this to work in VR? I'm currently using the Chim mod along with the Heart of Ice Astrid companion, but starting the dark brotherhood questline has both Astrid's using the same voice and character sheet. So I wanted to rename the DB Astrid to something else so she would get the same character sheet, but every time I try to use the hotkey to change her name, no keyboard shows and I cant rename her. Just the box with her current name pops up. I have tried to type on my actual keyboard but to no avail. I would also like to note that I have all the requirements including power of three prior to needing this. How did you get the keyboard to actually show up?
Issue: Names appending tempered level change more than once
Hiya, so the mod has been working well, however there's a little oddity that happens when I name something. Say if I have a piece of "Glass Armor (Legendary)" and I rename it to "Combat Glass Armor." It turns into "Combat Glass Armor (Legendary)" which is totally okay.
However the problem is that upon saving and reloading, the name becomes "Combat Glass Armor (Legendary) (Legendary)" which is a bit problematic. I cannot say for certain another mod is causing it, and if it is I apologize and hope not to waste anyone's time but I was just wondering if anyone else had this issue, and if so how did they fix it, or what did the discover the cause to be?
Edit 1: Huh.. the issue suddenly stopped happening and I don't know why... :/ Edit 2: It occasionally reoccurs, but only when I rename via a hotkey instead of MCM.
In case you haven't figured it out yet. The menu is in your Mod Configuration Menu (MCM) menu under "Lazy Renamer" so you need to have Sky UI installed for it. So you go stand in front of what you want to change the name of, open the mcm and go to this mods name and open that and you'll see what you have to do there. Its very simple to use don't worry.
Works wonderfully thank you. I use it to name my beautiful horse from Witcher Horse Expansion, the default name is Nether but now my starry print blue horse has been renamed to Starlight thanks to this mod.
Appreciate this mod! Was having some issue where renaming things in enchanting kept canceling out enchanting. I was searching all my mods to find which hotkeys were the culprit with no luck. This was a much easier work around. Thank you!
Hello :) is it possible to increase renamed object more than 512? I love to name my weapons with my own name plus enchantment on it, 512 is a little bit limited for me. Thanks.
probably not, maybe with some black magic or help from a deadric prince or divine (someone more capable than I may know how but i suspect with the limitations of the engine, it will remain this way)
Hi, somehow by using the mod I managed to perma change the name of black soul gems when they get filled. Any idea how I can fix it because every soul gem I fill gets auto named as "hestla".
Does this mod have issue in renaming followers and NPCs like Jaxons Renamer? In Jaxons renaming a follower will result in the follower breaking and not being able to be talked to.
Just what I have been looking for, wondering whether it will work with Skyrim VR which uses SkyUI-VR and SKSEVR - only one way to find out! Not clear from the description how you open the menu on objects - will report back :) Also wondering - if you sell an object does that delete it from the 256 list limit or is it 256 changes in total without a reinstall?
EDIT: Tried it in VR - it is added to the MCM menu but says 'no target' the only way to select something in VR is to point your right hand at it - then you can press A or Trigger to interact. When I do this and open the MCM menu, this loses/closes the focus on the object Added a hotkey but nothing happens when I press it while pointing at an object or person. Real shame because was something I really wanted :(
