Don't use it with the new 3.0 update of Better Dynamic Snow. The patching my script provides is no longer needed and wouldn't work if you tried to run it anyways.
Since - to my understanding - the 'new' BDS now is incompatible with parallax enabled meshes, I'll leave this mod up in case you want to use parallax and the old BDS.
Hi, I runned this on northpoint, but it doesn't create patch for object IANPmountaintrim01_snow01 that still looks bad on parallax, (is that why also the BSD for new lands mod doesn't fix it maybe?)
anyway can't I just modify material manually in sseedit? to SnowMaterialObject1PBetterDynamicSnow [MATO:04001305]?
I ran this patcher for BDSv2.11 but am still having the snow end/cut off abruptly before the edge of the roofs of farmhouses added by Cutting Room Floor. Anyone knows the reason/fix for this?
Not sure where to ask....... So asking here. I wanted to try the synthesis version but it keeps saying required file not found "better dynamic snow.esp missing". Obviously BDS v2 is installed. Any idea how to fix? Thanks.
edit: I asked on the git hub page, as well. But it seems pretty dead.
Someone help me out. In the Glacial Crevice during the obtain Auriel's bow mission, I get issues with the meshes in meshes\dlc01\landscape\iceberg\ I know it has to be a conflict with BDS. I ran the script, I selected my modlist but the mod I made didn't seem to do anything. All the meshes were still white. Deleting them made the old non-parallaxed meshes come back. Now, I know this isn't normal parallax, because it is multilayer on ice. Does that make a difference? There are definitely other meshes in there that have dynamic snow and multilayer parallax, so I know it can work. How do I make a patch or does anyone know where I can download a premade patch for Dawngaurd?
Edit: Reading some of the other posts, I see it skips Dawnguard so that should be why it didn't work. Maybe I just need to make a different mod that calls for the files and then make a patch for that mod?
My game freezes when for example walking into Dawnstar or in certain sections inside Windhelm with 4K - Parallax meshes and textures ("Skyrim 202X by Pfuscher (Formerly 2020) - Downscale") and using this Better Dynamic Snow Patcher script.
Anony else having this issue?
-> Good news: solved. Bad news: I don't know exactly why. I tried to tackle it systematically. But nonetheless, I am not sure what exactly solved it. I have messed around with different ENB 0.481 version. That somehow seems to have solved it.
HEY! please help me out. I've used this before and didn't have this problem. When I run the script I get a box that tells me enter a "filename without extension" but I have no idea what it's talking about. Perhaps these are the masters notifications the description page mentions? But if they are, I should be able to just click through, but I can only cancel the script when the box comes up.
Does anybody know what this box is, why it's causing me trouble, and what I can do to have the script work? It would be mega appreciated
The script asks you to name the plugin it creates. Type in whatever you want, like "BDS Patch" or "IhateTheStudpidModAuthor" or whatever. The "without extension" refers to not typing .esp or the like -- I'm not sure if that type of naming could lead to problems otherwise.
This mod causes ctd at Winterhold when when being used with JK's Skyrim. Just fast travel from anywhere to Winterhold or go from one of its interiors to the exterior and the game will crash instantly. I reran the patch after removing JK's Skyrim and the crashes disappeared. Here is my modwatch profile in case you need it to debug: Modwat.ch
FarmWell01.nif came from the Water in Wells mod. Once I set this file to Hidden in MO2, the FarmWell01.nif would be loaded from Static Mesh Improvement Mod, with which the game no longer crashes.

If you use the Synthesis Framework -- and you should, probably -- then you can simply go and grab his patch.
