    For anyone having any issues.
    Ive uploaded a couple pictures.
I dont see it mentioned, but its possible it needs to be enabled.

Once you have the book and learn the spell.
Cast it and a menu will come up.
My testing seems to show it needs to be 'enabled' before it will run.

So try and cast the spell and make sure you click Enable/Reset Idle System.
Its working for me this way on no mods, and with several hundred running.

I must have a conflict because once the idle period starts my PC just stands there doing regular player stationary idles with player controls deactivated. I am using mouse and keyboard.

Great news for Controller players !

This mod can work for us. I have SE v 1.5.97, and in combination with the mod:
    https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/54309  Auto Input Switch

    This works like a charm.

In my case, tested with Xbox 360 controller.

    Edit:
Love the idea of this mod. When it activates inside Breezehome, my pc will grab a broom & start sweeping the floor.
Although, it seems I've encountered a small issue: also when inside Breezehome, about everybody in the vicinity enters Breezehome to start idling with us. Gets overcrowded in there. When I exit the animation, they all leave the party. I'm having doubts about this . . .

would love if someone took a look at this to see if it can be updated to work on gamepad yet, since there's been so many updates to modding in the past few years

To anyone trying this out with a controller: It doesn't really work. The script checks for a keyboard input. It ignores controller input so mid-game it will think you are idle and lock you out of controlling the player character regardless of situation. You will have to hit a keyboard key to take over again. The mod does work in general but because it cannot read the controller inputs like the keyboard it is a bit frustrating. With a keyboard and mouse I don't think there would be any issue. Just FYI.

      I'll update the description page.
      Thank you for the feedback.
I'm not the most savey with scripts anymore, but I'll look into this and see if theres a way to adopt the script.

Couldn't a program like XPADDER provide the same functions of a keyboard and mouse, while still providing "keystrokes" for the mod to recognize?

Just thinking outside the computer case here....

Just wanted to thank you for elaborating slightly on the statement that it really doesn't work with a controller because it looks for keyboard inputs. I read it on the front page and thought, "Oh, well that means I just can't activate it with a controller" and it turns out that, while also true, that's not what the statement meant; for whatever reason, I didn't realize that it actually meant the auto-idle will trigger when attempting use a controller, despite the fact that the game clearly recognizes controller commands as player input even if the mod itself does not.

Thank you for mentioning this, I use Xbox one controller as well and was curious to why most of the time I never idled away. Love the mod no doubt will track this mod for a controller version idle. No rush is required if making a controller version or not & also Have a good day.

& also to those who are stuck in one spot unable to move just hit END on the keyboard it works most of the time.

mxr's video brought me here. Looks pretty good.

I use a controller with various other mods that "may or may not work right" I have the mod "take notes" no hotkeys contoller support, but the default hotkey "x" will open the notebook even while a controller is plugged in and used. Can't type anything but it's the idea behind it.

EDIT: You can type, but you cant navigate to any of the options while the controller is plugged in. Perhaps this might help push the author or someone who might be able to help out in the right direction!

it seems that perhaps there could be some sort of hybrid thing done to this mod MAYBE. I'm not good with papyrus or skyrim mod creation in general. So for all you knowledgable community members...could something like the above be done for this mod?

    +1 endorsement anyways

May I suggest creating a stripped down version that only has a hotkey idling feature? I mention because the timer idling doesn't seem to work for me, and I was thinking there's really no need for a timer at all. It would also eliminate any possibility of script load, as it would become a single fire one at a time script, rather than what is required for a timer. All in all a great mod for immersion however, so thank you and keep up the good work!

Edit: About scripts, it's not to do with this mod, but generally the more streamlined and lite a mod can be, the less probability of issues with other mods. Even little scripts add up when dealing with large modlists. I have a weak computer and even single fire scripts can be quite delayed if I am running even just one or two script heavy mods.

      I haven't seen that behavior.
It shouldn't trigger unless you stop moving for a bit.

Maybe try adding the item to your pc.
I'll look up the code later this evening.

Perhaps a hot key default setting in the mod is triggering?
      Check the hotkey setting.
Also, check the timer setting. Increase it/or change it and see if that helps.

I do know once its triggered you have no control for a short bit.
But it shouldnt be triggering while you are doing stuff.
