Is it happening with all Vigilant books? Or just some specific ones? It's happening only when this mod is installed? Did you try without it? Is it happening, when you pick the book up or read it? Does it happen with notes also? I can do with a bit more info. If you're playing on SE 1.5.97, I recommend installing .Net Script Framework, it will produce Crash Log after the crash, which will identify, what made the game crash.
In a huge modified Licentia modlist where i could take books instead of reading them, the mod that was most likely causing the crashes was No More Laser-Printed Books. When i removed that i only crashed once more whereas i was crashing 50% of the time before when taking books. Another possible culprit was better third person selection. That was causing crashes as well. I don't think it was crashing only on vigilant books. When it happened it was completely random, rarely crashing on the same book.
I see. If that's the case .Net Script Framework is your best bet. It's best mod to identify, what plugin caused the crash. Maybe also try xEdit to look what changes books in you load order.
I would love to add these to my load order. I'm afraid I won't though because I assume they are regular esp's and turning them into esl's via XxEdit would probably cause some errors right? Thanks to whoever answers, cheers!
Just a quick fyi, Vigilant just got updated to 1.7.0 on the 12th. I am unsure if this means that you might have to update the Vigilant book covers as well, but I just wanted to let you know.
I love this mod for both the Vigilant and Glenmoril mods, been using this for quite some time now. Keep up the good work!
States that it requires Vigilant for the Glenmoril book covers. Is this really necessary? I have Glenmoril, but not Vigilant (as I hate the Vigilants of Stendaar and kill them when I see them, lol).

It won't add to your load order.
Hope you are doing well today.
