Surely there are mods out there similar to this for oldrim? If not i guess i could download the old CK (im not even sure where i would find it at this point) and save the ESP. there and upload it...

Yeah, but this mod is also part of a larger overhaul type mod... so i could break it down piece by piece, but there are already plenty of mods that individually do what mine does, as you've posted. If there are any ideas in this mod you want to steal feel free to go for it!

Thanks for this mod. I agree with all of the QOL changes i've seen. I've recently gotten back to skyrim and really want to mod it out for an almost new experience.

I disagree. you NEED salt to cook, my mum also "has an aversion" to salt, and her cooking is awful because of it

i WOULD like to download this, but it just can't replace H.A.S.T.E https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/14539?tab=description
for me, even though i REALLY like some of the changes you made here, any chance you could make a version which doesn't alter the same things as haste? and maybe drop the enchantments tweak (or just make it so that restoration and enchanting enchantments and fortify effects don't interract with each other) i'd still like to be able to make myself a "crafting" set of clothing, and an "alchemy" set of clothing, on related apparel

Hey, sorry you mum has an aversion to salt :( it is very important in making food taste great! But this is for survival (kind of) I think i might add two recipes for meat, and see if i can increase how much salt shows up in game.I will also look into HASTE and see what i can do! Thanks for the comments!

Hey! Check out the new update! I got rid of the recipe thing, there are plenty of food mods out there to choose from. And i added some stuff from HASTE, and from what i saw it wont really conflict with the mod. Just put it above haste if you want to keep the HASTE prices of pelts, and gold reward from quests. And lower then HASTE if you want to use my QoL prices (though they are very similar). And as far as the crafting goes; you can still find items such as jewelry, quest items, and dragon priest masks that increase crafting, you just cant disenchant them. I suppose i should put up a version that doesn't include this so people can play how they want, i just felt the craft loop was a mistake. But i hope this helps!

You may not need salt to cook, but definitely not only it's to make it more palatable, but also to make it lasts long, especially when carried during adventures. That's a justification to "why the food isn't rot"

so i updated it, so it no longer changes recipes. I have a couple food mods i made, and there are already some really good ones out there. I did add salt to merchants

Some good changes in there. I have a personal "tweak" mod for such things myself.

One side note on the salt - instead of changing all the recipes (which has possible compatibility issues with other mods) I just increased the occurrence of salt.
Regardless, some good changes in there.

    Thanks for sharing.

Thats a pretty good idea, Its such a rare ingredient, and it makes great potions, so i hate to waste it on cooking. Also, it sucks when you want to cook meat at a fire, and you cant barbecue you dont have salt! I might just add another recipe "unsalted meat" that doesnt give as good of benefits, but you can still cook and eat it. I wish the engine was a little better, so i could actually give the player a "fullness" and then give different buffs and debuffs based on how full you are. Which i think there are mods for...

Lore wise, I think you are 100% spot on.

I just also thought, lore wise, if salt were REALLY a requirement for the normal people living in skyrim to eat three meals a day, you should be able to buy it everwhere.

You could do a fullness - but it would be quite a bit of work.
Add a global for "fullness". Better food increases fullness more.
Then add a spell to the player, have it with multiple effects, each with a condition based upon the value of the fullness global.

However, this would be getting a bit complex - as you would also need your fullness to decay over time.

you could look into hooking into some of the survival variables, but that gets tricky as well.

talk all that with a grain of salt...
      :)

Haha, i see what you did there. And yeah, it would get pretty comlpex, and i dont want to really force people to eat. Just have a motivation, to make food useful. Sort of like the well rested bonus.
