this mod would make so much more sense if it gave you a status effect of like 10% weaker attack dmg for 5 minutes or something or 10% less stamina or 10 minutes.. Or like you can't run for 5 minutes if you wanted to get even more punishing based on the distance.
I've been enjoying the mod so far but now it's causing me issues. Either because I've got a pretty high fast travel speed mult or something else, but I don't always get a message and it removes my active spells and food buffs as if a very long time had passed. So I just wanted to know if it was removable or not, given that it contains scripts.
I love this idea! Wondering though; is the message box text possible to edit myself in xEdit? I use Your Own Thoughts and like having all texts in First Person, so if it's easily do-able in it, I can do it myself.
It's a hard coded string in the script, so to change it you'd need to recompile. :(
Since it seems folks like this mod, I've no doubt I'll tighten up the strings so that modifications such as first person and translations are easier and perhaps make it more configurable out of the box. Version 1.0 is a personal mod I had no intention of releasing until I mentioned it on reddit.
I've also been toying with eliminating the message box entirely in favor of a more widget-style text effect (a la Witcher 3, Dark Souls, GTA). The Skyrim message box requiring interaction isn't my favorite approach, even though it's the easiest.
Aw I see! It's understandable and I appreciate you sharing it despite being a personal mod. I don't think I'll be using it but still want to endorse it, so I'll come back later for it.
