Another way to do it is, open the console, select your partner, type "Kill" and remove the wedding ring, then type "Resurrect" in the console again and that's it.
Otra manera de hacerlo es,abriendo la consola selecciona a tu pareja, escribe "Kill" y quitale el anillo de matrimonio, luego vuelve a escribir en la consola "Resurrect" y listo
She reply to me "i know you have no word to tell me. i know your heart love me its just your eyes seeing another flower, i can do nothing about that. here take my small saving pouch. you can just get another alto wines, skoomas or schlong operation. i will always be here waiting if you ever want to comeback again love"
i just replace "player.additem 000C891B 5" line to "player.additem 0000000F 25000"
Works perfectly! The instructions, however, are a bit unclear. The file needs to be downloaded MANUALLY. Then:
-Extract the archive Divorce Character 1.1.3238-1 -Put the resulting file "divchar.txt" into the folder: (whichever drive your game is on):\Program\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\data -Start the game, open the console using the (~) key, and type: bat divchar, then press enter
That's it! You will receive 5 amulets of Mara and you are ready to get married again!
Small addition: you must first select your wife in the console (click on her with the mouse, with the console open), and only then use "bat divchar". Otherwise, only your character will be divorced, and the wife will remain married. The consequences of polygamy are unpredictable.
Will this work if I want to divorce Sofia? Edit: for me the game allows a second wedding but after the wedding is finished all the people in the game become unresponsive and i get infinite loading screen as soon as I leave the temple
I married Vilja at the temple.... I am assuming whilst it is a custom marriage quest, she uses the vanilla system and registry, without problems after marrying Sofia. Then I married Mirai in her custom outside of vanilla system wedding, too, and it worked fine.
As I said I am pretty sure Vilja uses the vanilla registry for marriage, so I think something else is going on, aside from this. OK, I did not divorce Sofia, but I still do not see a problem.
Tip though; why bother even divorcing Sofia? She's outside the Vanilla marriage system and has NO effect on marriage. You can marry her AND an NPC that uses the Vanilla system.
Thank you for this. Made it a lot simpler to deal with the bug that causes spouses to stop providing homecooked meals etc as well. I might modify it to give less amulets but otherwise this makes it simple process and I didn't think to do this before.

Edit: Seems to be okay for LE.
