Hi everyone. Thanks to Survival Control Panel, by Parapets and colinswrath, I have been able to make Sleep to Level Up compatible with mods such as The Frozen North and Potion Toxicity SSE that use Survival Mode features. I have released a new version with this compatibility but it has Survival Control Panel as a new requirement. Although the changes to this mod are very minimal, I chose to version this as 1.4 instead of 1.3.1 due to the new requirement. If you don't use mods like these, rest assured that your game won't be harmed by installing Sleep to Level Up 1.4 and Survival Control Panel.
There is no benefit to updating from 1.3 to 1.4 midgame, unless you want to install mods that use Survival Mode Features.
Growl users who update to 1.4 also need to install the new Growl patch.
For some reason, after meeting all the requirements, when I wake up I'm unable to level up or spend perk points. My character also gets more fatigued after hours of sleep. Is this incompatible with Go To Bed and/or iNeed?
If I am reading this correctly, you are forced to level up if you have a level up available when you sleep. That pretty much kills the whole reason why I was going to try this mod out - to allow me to train after each level if I had accumulated more than one level, but this does not allow you to accumulate more than one level, since you must level up. I suppose you could always sleep less than 8 hours unless you wanted to level. Would that work if you wanted to accumulate levels?
There's one small change I'd suggest, just phrasing. Instead of "You cannot level up more than once..." I'd suggest "you cannot gain more than one level...". Other than that excellent mod, thanks!
Well, the way the MCM is written, it has these $ values that are basically placeholders for the text that's actually supposed to appear. When the game runs, it checks the translation file for the language you're playing in and uses it to replace the placeholders with text in the correct language. At the moment, there's only an English translation file, which would explain why the text doesn't appear correctly when playing the game in another language. I thought the game would use English as a fallback option but clearly I was wrong.
Luckily, this is easy to fix. You need to extract the BSA with Bethesda Archive Extractor (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/974). In the 'interface/translations' folder there will be a file called 'sleep to level up_english.txt'. Copy it and change the language in the filename from 'english' to 'italian' (I think it needs to be the english version of the language name, so not 'italiano'). That will create a translation file for italian. Place the file in your data folder under 'interface/translations', or in the 'interface/translations' folder in the mod folder if using MO2 (not sure about how Vortex works).
If you want the text in the MCM to actually be in italian rather than english though, you'll need to edit that file. It's pretty simple. On each line there will be the placeholder text starting with '$', then a tab character, then the translation text. Just change the translation text on each line to an italian translation.
If you decide to write the translations, I'd appreciate it if you could provide me the file. I'll include it in a new release so other italian users don't have to do the same thing, and I'll credit you as the translator.
Anyway, DrJaker, if you're also playing the game in another language, it'll be the same issue. You can do the same thing as I said just above to fix it, just substitute 'italian' for your own language. Again, if you provide me the translation file, I'll include it in a new release and credit you.
Does this mod work with mods that give you perk points? I may be overlooking it, but I have the skyshards mod and I don't seem to be getting any perk points from it.
I am as well. I have the Survival Control Panel and Campfire both installed with this mod and when I sleep, the skill menu opens up afterwards as it should but Im not actually able to level up. Can't pick H/M/S or am given any points
Hello there, I don't know if you were able to solve your Problem but I also wasn't able to lvl up even if I sleeped a hole day. Go to your MCM to the Survival Control Panel and make sure that "sleep to lvl up" is set on default. After I changed this small option everything worked fine
Brilliant, this is a mod Skyrim has needed, deperately, since launch (this was literally my 3rd biggest gripe after the lack of proper spell & enchantment customization.
Also, this may be a strange question, but is there variable/global I can access from the debug console to check how many levels I have pending, 'cos it's a (little) inconvenient to have to check the MCM every time a skill levels when I'm grinding & making a named save for each Character Level earned?

Edit: Weird. After exiting from the game, waiting a bit and starting it back up, the issue resolved itself.
