Updated to v1.2, removing esl file as no longer needed (textures provided as loose files). Updated to v1.1, adding an improved normal map for the book walls, created by and with thanks to IconicDeath.
Hah, true! Thanks for pointing out the unnecessary esl...you are of course correct, that's not needed with loose files. I usually package as BSA but due to multiple requests I've provided this new version as loose files - but left the esl file in the package out of habit.
How is the download so small? Also, could you please change the plugin from an esl to a esl-flagged-esp? fits a lot better in load orders while doing the same thing.
EDIT: Took a look at the file, you only have the plugin to load a bsa with 5 textures? Why not just put them in raw?
This mod replaces the 5 key textures that are most visible and most need replacing in Apocrypha.
Performance is better with BSA rather than loose files, as the engine is designed that way. This was ported from my Oldrim mod; at the time I had requests from users to package as BSA rather than loose files so did so.
Load order shouldn't be an issue as this is purely a texture replacer, and as far as I'm aware there aren't any other mods that touch the same 5 textures necessitating an esl-flagged esp. And if there are, and considering the artistic changes made in this mod, any other texture mods would likely not complement - so feel free to pick one mod or the other.
As a port from my original Oldrim mod on request, I don't have any plans to make any changes or update this SSE version.
While I appreciate your concern over performance, I don't see the need for this to be a bsa and plugin file. Most people modding Skyrim nowadays have much more powerful computers then what people had when SE wasn't out. It's only 5 textures, and they're only 2k resolution, I really don't see why they can't be loose.
Am I missing something here? These are just textures, so we can unpack the .bsa and not worry about the plugin at all, right? Just affects load screen time.
Correct. You can unpack the textures and deal with any performance hit. Absolutely no need to though, the plugin file is an esl so doesn't impact load order.
