Please Update We are now at version 1.0.6.4 When you download the application, you install it then when you start it for the first time auto update is on by default and because of that you see a green bar at the top saying their is a new update available. Many of you just press dismiss, that's wrong because your not up to date and many fix were done because of valid error report I received.
Because you don't update I receive error report from many user that are still using the first release 1.0.0.0, so I trash them on the spot, what a waste of paper. The update system is good and the auto report system is even better because it permits me to fix thing for everyone. All system are different for me version one never gave me an error, but for many it wasn't the case I received many errors and I was able to fix them right away. Now I'm receiving errors reports for version 1.0.0.0 only so please update.

It all started as a simple notepad. Since the creation of this tool the 07 Dec 2014 it has been use many times to create script and I started to count how may times the program started "session", not compiling here are the numbers
2014-12-29 Skyrim Script Editor Pro has been used 35,476 times "that's many mods". 40 days later + 24 new sessions.
2017-02-28 Skyrim Script Editor Pro SE has been used 105,392 times "Wow what a difference". 40 days later + 2,502.
2019-02-23 Skyrim Script Editor Lite has been used 2,067 times "Just about a year not to bad".40 days later + 212.
2020-01-05 Skyrim Script Editor Pro Final has been used 1,962 times "Just a bit over a month". 40 days later + 1,741.
So since the creation of this tool it as been use 144,897 times, That is a lots of mods. 40 days later 20 March 2020 + 4,479 new sessions. Hope this tool continue to be used.
One caveat though, if using MO - MO2, just add the executable to the list of programs that start with MO/MO2, But be aware that if you use the move scripts function (Move files to "source\scripts) from the drop down menu, that it will remove all source scripts from every separate mod that's active and combine them into one large folder within the overwrite directory. If using profiles though with minimum mods and have one mod active at a time, then there's no issue.
I'm just mentioned that because if you make a mistake and click on it when you're mostly sleep deprived and don't realize what you just did, there's no undo for it. lol not a big deal because then you just create a mod for MO/MO2 with all the source files from the overwrite directory.Only makes it a hassle after if a mod gets updated, then you'll need to go searching for script source conflicts etc.
Thanks for the info I will sticky this for other to see. I don't use MO so don't nothing about it, but instruction on how to use it are more than welcome.
Did you do anything other than adding the executable? It's reading my files just fine, but I haven't got the faintest idea where the output is ending up.
I made sure to read the description but no mention was made about this and MO... I just literally fucked up my entire modlist because yes I can indeed make an esp out of the overwrite folder but that makes it impossible to track when I uninstall a mod and always check for leftover script files.
I really wished you would have mentioned NOT to use that function at all if you use MO (which is the only good mod manager for mod-heavy builds).
I used the GitHub stand-alone version of Champollion for decompilation and it worked well for me.
Just drag-an-drop your PEX file on the Champollion EXE and you will get a decompiled PSC which you can edit and then recompile in Skyrim Script Compiler Pro Final.
Hope this helps somebody, I've wasted a few hours to figure it out.
Don't even bother trying to get this spaghetti code app to work. It gives a ton of errors and doesn't actually compile anything. Furthermore it takes liberties in smearing its logo all over your screen. Had to use Geek Uninstaller to completely remove this cancer from my OS.
As far as actual solutions go, Champollion works to change .pex into .psc if you drag a .pex file onto Champollion.exe, but something competent that actually changes .psc back into .pex still eludes the masses.
never gotten this to work. Always fails on compiling a script no matter what and also fails to update (Gets stuck on "unzipping") during the update process.
No matter what I do I can't seem to compile scripts. Whenever I hit save and compile scripts, whether they are modified or unmodified, I always get message "Compiled 1 script files, 0 was successful". Why is this happening? I installed everything according to description page here on nexus.
Upon looking at the the output window it appears there are some script errors. I'm a novice when it comes to scripting, or coding in general, so I must have just messed something up while editing this script.
**Thank you for pointing out about the output window. I was able to fix my issue and the scripts compiled.
I've tried all day long, and I can't compile a script edit of a mod, and I don't get an error either, it just says "failed 1 script" in the corner. It has SkyUI as a dependency, and I tried to download the sources for it (SkyUI) and put them in the Data/Script/Source folder, but I can't figure out if that's enough or if I'm missing an extra step, or where I'm missing the step.
Edit: I got it! To anyone that has something like this, I can't recommend enough to open the Error Log within the "View" tab, Which will show what is the line of function calling something missing.
Can't get it to work, because the entire thing isn't flexible in detecting the game file path. My game is installed in TES-Skyrim [SE] , not the standard The Elder Scrolls - Skyrim - Special Edition . I made my install path as such due to an issue I faced back in LE that a mod did not work because the file directory character total was too long (I think it was Dynamic Anim Replacer or smth).
The decompiler works, mostly because Champollion has always worked outside the box.
Am not complaining tho. I know the issue is on my stubborness, a lot of people probably have the same basic install folder name, but to anyone with a similar issue, there you go.
Don't get it, what ever directory name you have it should work as long as you keep the game directory structure, if the autodetecting doesn't work then use the browse button or input it manually in the text box
I reinstalled recently, but am getting this error when I try to save:
The system cannot find the file specified
System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception (0x80004005): The system cannot find the file specified at System.Diagnostics.Process.StartWithCreateProcess(ProcessStartInfo startInfo) at System.Diagnostics.Process.Start() at SkyrimScriptCompilerProFinal.Form1.Save(TabPage tab) in C:\Users\Luc\Documents\Visual Studio 2019\Projects\SkyrimScriptCompilerProFinal\SkyrimScriptCompilerProFinal\Form1.cs:line 6686
Pex/psc seem to be in the right place and there's no antivirus activity.
EDIT: Updated to 1.0.7.6, now I just get this message: The system cannot find the file specified

The fix was to (re)install the Creation Kit. I had uninstalled it because I didn't want the Bethesda Launcher on my computer.
It seemed as though the CK was optional, but I guess not. Hope this saves someone a few hours!
And please install the latest version you can get it here
