i made a patch for this mod to work with the whiterun giant drops stuff and the level 80 else version of this mod. thanks for making a cool mod here the link.
Thank you so much for this. The vanilla version of the giant fight is so poorly designed, it's nice to finally have a fair shot at killing the giant instead of having the giant be slain once it gets into sight.
would probably add this, but just wondering, if anyone know of a mod that makes Aela NOT yell at you if you dont fight the giant? some my characters I RP as a simple farmer or merchant, they're not a fighter or a warrior
I don't know any such mod sorry. More dialogue options is a cool mod I recommend.
Aela is a nord and they can look down on non warriors, especially someone like her who fully embraces that aspect of her culture. That's an RP idea for you.
Thanks for this! I've used the lvl 80 .esl flagged one multiple times and it works great - the giant survives just long enough for me to cast a couple of spells at it. I'd recommend everyone to use that - don't be afraid it's too strong even with bunch of combat / NPC / monster mods!
Does this alter any quest data? I have a ported version of the old ESF Companions mod that I'm debugging and don't want to complicate things, but if this literally only touches the giant record then everything should be fine.
Good job - the level 80 giant survived just long enough that I managed to cast two spells on it. So it's not a danger at all but at least I could participate.
While I was concerned the level 80 ESL version would be too much it worked perfectly, thanks. For reference I'm using Improved Companions - Questline Tweaks (claims to lengthen the giant fight), Wildcat, and Special Edition Followers (buffs the companions).

Hey, I'm the maker of that particular mod. Can you tell me what wasn't working, as all iterations only change one thing and that's by ramping up the giant's health by a chunk?
I'm *personally* thinking that the health boost wasn't enough depending on a combat mod or it's conflicting with something else. I'm just curious because I'd like to improve my most popular mod.

Aela will ignore you if you didnt help them fight the giant.
