About this mod

This mod adds in the powerful Mjolnir hammer from ancient Norse mythology into Skyrim. The hammer is heavily influenced by the source (Norse mythology). Call the storm and ascend to new heights (literally) with this powerful hammer in your possession, if ye be worthy!

Permissions and credits
Long ago, a rift opened in Tamriel and a mighty explosion cracked the sky. Out of this great tear between realities came a powerful hammer that punched a hole in a mountain in Skyrim. Warriors, treasure hunters, and countless others had attempted to lift the hammer but none could even budge the thing. One day, a powerful and learned warrior was able to lift the hammer and restore the power within. He felled many foes and few could dare challenge him. Eventually, the warrior disappeared, along with the hammer. Imperial scholars in the Fourth Era have reason to believe that the final resting place was where the hammer first struck: Bleak Falls Barrow. Such legends have been lost to time and few even know of the hammer's existence and even fewer still know any details of its whereabouts, but Bleak Falls Barrow seems as good a place as any to begin the search, particularly since its inner sanctum has a hole in the ceiling that some say the gods could gaze through.

The ancient but mighty Mjolnir when first picked up will not grant the Last Dragonborn its powers. It will be heavy and slow, but luckily the hammer was not the only thing to fall from the rift so long ago. Enchanted metal (which the Dragonborn can learn to craft with Tamrielic metals), in addition with the knowledge of lightning storms and the smithing knowledge of Daedric and arcane items, can be used to reawaken the power within Mjolnir. Mjolnir can call down lightning upon any foe struck with the hammer, send them flying with a powerful swing, grant one the power to ascend to the sky briefly once a day (you are still mortal after all and Mjolnir refuses to allow it more than once a day for your safety) and turn the undead in fear for it deals extra damage to the undead.

If you are stuck, just want the hammer, etc., then click on the SPOILER button below and all shall be revealed.

The unpowered version of Mjolnir can be found in the Bleak Falls Barrow Inner Sanctum, guarded by a skeleton. Reading the note on the skeleton will direct you to the Dragon Priest sanctuary in Labyrinthian (the same place you can use the Wooden Mask in). A draugr will be awaiting your arrival. Killing him isn't necessary but he does hold a note that gives you the Lightning Storm spell, one of the requirements for being able to craft/improve Mjolnir. Reading his journal will reveal that the Dragonborn killed Hafdan (the draugr) in the past. Travelling into the past, you will find Hafdan fully alive and quite hostile towards you. Again, killing isn't necessary, but does allow you to retrieve the enchanted iron ingots from the nearby chest without being hassled.

You will need the following skills, spell, and ingredients to craft the powered Mjolnir and more enchanted Iron:

Mjolnir
  • Lightning Storm spell
  • 5 Enchanted Iron ingots (and 5 more to improve Mjolnir)
  • Unworthy Mjolnir
  • Arcane smithing
  • Daedric smithing
Enchanted Iron
  • Arcane smithing
  • 1 Stalhrim ore
  • 1 Moonstone ore
  • 2 Ebony ore
  • 1 filled Black Soul Gem

Crafting Enchanted Iron can be done at any smelter and will always produce 2 ingots. Mjolnir can be crafted/improved at any forge/grindstone respectively. The skeleton that is guarding the hammer will pick up the hammer and use it against you unless you are quick enough to slay it before it can do so. The fight is easily won at a low level, provided you either kill the skeleton before it picks up the hammer/swings it or you can fight it without being hit by Mjolnir.

Mjolnir's enchantment grants the following:
  • Shock damage
  • Summons the Call Storm shout (3rd word variant) one any NPC struck with Mjolnir; each NPC will be hit by lightning for 30 seconds, with the time being specific to each NPC (if Serana is hit and then 15 seconds later Ulfric is hit, then Serana will still have lightning hitting her for 15 more seconds while Ulfric will have a full 30 seconds of lightning to look forward to), and the timer will be reset for the NPC hit if struck before the 30 seconds is up
  • Undead foes will run when hit
  • Undead will receive extra damage from Mjolnir and the turning explosion effect of Dawnbreaker has a chance of occurring upon killing an undead enemy
  • 20 points of stamina will be absorbed from enemies (there's a cooldown of a few seconds, preventing continuous stamina absorbing spamming)
As long as you hold Mjolnir, you can activate the power Thunder God's Flight, the spell tome of which can be found in the same chest as the enchanted iron ingots. For 30 seconds, you receive no fall damage and can jump 100 times higher. The power is subject to the same limits as the other powers: one use per day.

And that concludes the spoiler section! If you've read everything up to this point, thank you and I hope you got everything you needed from it. If not, feel free to ask any questions (and of course comment).
If you've downloaded this mod, thanks so much and I hope you enjoy it! You can find the MCU version of Mjolnir at https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/29454 and everything here applies there.

The only conflicts should be with mods that have items with the exact same ID's or that modify the game setting variable fJumpHeightMin.
