Mod is kinda-sorta okay, but the fugitive still appears if you're sneaking, he just runs around like a chicken with its head cut off because he can't interact with you.

What would really be stellar is if there was a second version of this mod that completely disables this encounter... that isn't also a massive overhaul like Immersive World Encounters, which I previously used but had to stop using due to a disabled encounter occurring anyway.

Still, it does what it says on the tin, and that's a nice thing, if only because nothing breaks my immersion faster than being in full sneak mode at 100 sneak with muffled boots in the middle of some big bandit camp, completely unseen... except for that stupid fugitive running up and giving me his shit.  This prevents him from doing that, so it's good.

      runs around like a chicken
Well, he runs around as a fugitive looking for a way out is supposed to do  XD

Personally, I hate mods that completely remove parts of gameplay.
Anyway, drop QF_WE25_00062131.pex into your Scripts folder and you won't see him again.
Then this mod will be useless, of course.

Please excuse my ignorance. I'm somewhat new to modding skyrim and beside skse and part 2 of engine fixes, i haven't installed anything without a mod manager. The zip file contains a folder named editedsource and the file qf_we25_00062131.pex
I have copied them to skyrim special edition/data/scripts
      Is this correct?
I hate to remove things from the game but this is just so dumb and keeps repeating over and over and OVER again with identical npcs...
Thanks in advance and again sorry for my noob question.

You only need the .pex file into the Scripts folder.
The source is included so that those who are interested and curious can see what's different from the vanilla script, but it does nothing.

      Thank you so much!
I've just recently discovered your wonderful mods and it feels like i've found a treasure trove :)

Update: Haven't seen a trace of them after several hours of playing. You are a legend!

My nephew told me about this mod and i told him that i've been using it for ages. He said "no, not the mod itself, the file in comment section."
All my friends who play skyrim and i are using this now. Thank you tarlazo and as mentioned you are very funny!

Repent, that your sin may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Fugitive.

      hahaha!
Have a wonderful weekend good sir :)
  2. Thank you for making this mod. I was searching for one that removes the skaal talking asking about hunting a netch. It is happening frequently and it is really annoying...

No biggie, I was using it myself and just had to make a copy and zip it  :)

      --EDIT--
BTW, download it again because, having been reminded of its existence, I added a small improvement.

OMG, but that would be -- in modder's lingo -- an "OVERHAUL!!!"
      Too much for me  :D

I don't know whether it's another mod interfering, but after several totally new playthroughs with this mod, I still get the fugitive event.

Well, it isn't supposed to remove the event but to prevent it from triggering while you're in combat, which would be quite silly.
Would you tap on the shoulder someone who's fighting for his life: "Excuse me..."

I get it now. Propeller hat moment. In that sense the mod was successful. Still, this has to be one of the most idiotic events. I'm trying to stealth kill someone (technically not in combat yet) and this doofus blows my cover and actually starts combat.

That's probably because you're as stealthy as a bull in a china shop
But you're right, including a sneaking character makes sense, going to update, kudos for the idea.

Actually I had all my stealth perks maxed out already. Short of cheating and having a fortify sneak at 9000000% there's no way I could have been stealthier.

It doesn't matter to Bethesda. Force grabs are the worst Idea Bethesda ever came up with next to adding a million-fetch quest instead of real thought-out quest.

Ok, this is enough. I've been modding for skyrim for years with CC one of my fundamentals and figure, finally, "ok, I should make sure I've given its creator a kudo'. So I click their name looking for their profile and 'oh my :) there's a lot of mods there', start looking, see some I've had for years but never latched onto who's giving them to me and 'whoa, I want some more of this' and then I get to this one and 'if this isn't attention to detail nothing is' and just had to laugh and download because it has happened to me.

Thanks, although I'm mostly a "niche modder" -- small things for like-minded players :)
And some of them are not even meant to be actually downloaded or kept in a serious load order :D

Thanks for this! I recently came across the fugitive for the first time in several play-throughs. I didn't know who the hell he was but he was following my ladies around like some leering dirty creep. So I killed him! Lol. Now I know better.

This Mod makes it easy to REMOVE this Fugitive event (and many other annoying world events + radiant quests) altogether.  The name of this Fugitive event is WE25.

Clearly the preferred pick of the (2) mods that do this.
The "other one" has problems with Open Cities and Immersive Citizens, and unfortunately the author made an OC patch that is unusable - an esl to patch an end-of-load-order mod. Happens when people don't understand the difference between esl and espfe. The SSEEdit scripts are purposely mis-labeled just to catch out people like that - so they realize that they're doing something wrong and take the time to learn about it properly. In theory. In reality we get someone doing that, and then leaving it for a year, rather than correct the problem.

So my question to you is - what about similar conflicts? I don't have IC but I do have OC.

Because I otherwise agree with everyone here - this is a must-have.

I must note here as well, that I discovered this only by reading the comments on the Shut Up page, looking to see if had anyone solved the Open Cities problem. If he had simply left the esp version for people to choose from, he'd have done a lot better. Meantime, someone posted this mod's address as an alternative, and here I am. You should find a way to promote this mod more - it deserves it, and would be quite popular I think if more people simply knew about it. Everybody seems to know about the competition, but not that there is any competition for it.

That's not where I should have to go to find out about such a great mod

AFAIK it can't conflict with anything, it only adds one "not-in-combat" condition to a few dialogue infos.
Thanks for the kind words but promoting is something I'm not really bothered with, I don't make my living from mods

Copy that - about promoting. Totally understandable.
      Glad to hear, "no conflicts".
Downloading and installing now. Will be back to endorse as soon as someone tries to talk during a fight and I get to see it in action.

Personally, I intend to tell everyone I know that plays Skyrim about this mod - I don't mind promoting....

so, here I am, standing in the middle of nowhere fighting a dragon on top of this frozen medium sized mountain near windhelm and i see a figure in the distance running at me. its none other than this piece of work. lobs me a crappy hide helmet and over encumbers me mid fight.

I quickly toss he helmet, disengage the dragon and plunge my sword gloriously into his back.

what was he thinking? I am after all a Legion Legate in full legion gear
