What does this mod do?
Ever noticed how the battle-hardened Orcs look almost exactly the same as puny High Elves? Maybe not, but now you will.
Sorry about that.
RBT aims to put an end to this incredibly un-immersive
situation. Now you can choose which race looks like a gut-spilling berserker and which like a pampered puppet of the Thalmor. You're welcome!
Want Wood Elves to have freckles but think that'd look weird on Orcs? Races with better two-handed skill should look like it? Think that the amount of chest hair should reflect how much of a manly man someone is?
RBT makes your diversity dreams come true!
Also check out EBD/zEBD, a possible better alternative to RBT.

THIS MOD DOES NOT CONTAIN TEXTURES OF ITS OWN.

[X] Accept and proceed.*

*These fields are mandatory.

How do I make it work?

  • Download a texture mod that features textures that reflect what you want.
  • Install the texture mod and choose the options that you want to apply to NORDS.
  • Install RBT.
  • Install the texture mod again (as new mod, not as replacement), but now how you want some other race to look.
  • Go into the textures/actors/character/<gender> folder of the secondary installation.
  • Move the files to the RBT-directory as specified in the included .txt file.
  • Delete the secondary installation.
  • Repeat step 4 to 7 until all  folders of the RBT directory have the needed files.

Using textures from different mods for different races is possible but may look weird in some instances.
All non-playable races use their default texture set. Vampires of most races wear the Nord face.
Mod Organizer 2 is recommended.

Compatibility & Loadorder:
Should be compatible with everything or at least can't break anything. Worst that could happen is texture weirdness.
Put RBT below any mod that has to do with character appearance.

Uninstall:
Go into an interior location with no other NPCs. Be sure you are not in third-person camera mode.
Make a manual save (not quicksave), close the game and uninstall via manager.

The characters have seams on their necks/wrists:
Seæms like you matched some textures up wrong.
Remember that normal maps (files ending in "_msn.dds") have to match up too.
If you are absolutely certain, that you did everything right, put an entry in the Bugs-section.
Don't forget to tell me which race has the problem.

Parts of the characters are invisible/purple:
Either you didn't put all required files in the dedicated folders or didn't read the Loadorder instructions. This one is probably on you.

I don't understand how to make it work:
Write a comment with what is too complicated, maybe I'll update the instructions.

I have seen a mod just like this before, this is outrageous:
I know I know, but the other mods that do the exact same thing as RBT either ignore faces or have some other features that I just don't want.
Except for EBD/zEBD, which is actually superior in every aspect except simplicity, so you may want try it instead of RBT.

You want more immersion?

Immerse your carnivorous canine teeth into a tender rack of ribs with Real Feeding, a small mod for Hircines hungry hordes!
This mod transforms your victims into bloody skeletons when feeding on them as a werewolf.
