what is this mod? this is an incomplete/WIP new world mod by Breti at best, an open source/open permission resource pack the world makes for cool exploration but definitely not game-play ready
can you fix this bug? can you finish this mod? no, my days of supporting this port/resource pack are long over unfortunately however, permissions are completely open, so it is up to you (the modding community) to carry the torch
remember to endorse Breti and his original LE version : ) Rochester LE
After getting CTDs in the Bannered Mare, I noticed that this mod makes edits to that cell. Is there any reason for this? Not saying it's the cause of my CTDs, just curious...
I only know it is suppose to make an edit to Whiterun by hiding a teleport book near the entrance, but that's it... Hmm, that's weird, i'll have to look into it.
You should always check mods you're not sure of for conflicts and if they are dirty. Unless mentioned by the author to not clean a mod you should clean them.
Anyone seen a woman named Uthgerd the Unbroken? She's a 30 level fighter and IDs to Rochester. I met her in Whiterun. She challenged me to a fistfight. I beat her up and then enslaved her, probably not the intended outcome. I have no idea why a Rochester NPC was in Whiterun. Maybe part of some quest? I thought all the quests were broken. If I do need her for some quest, I can release her from slavery.
(Later) She showed up again, a duplicate wandering around Whiterun naked with a two-handed sword. She IDed as a slave, but with all stats set to zero, so I dismissed her. When that did nothing, I recycled her, which did not seem to affect the original.
I found a sword, "Drachentöter" ("Dragonslayer" in English) inside a shipwreck on the bottom of Lake Ilinalta. It IDs as an object from Rochester.esm. I haven't yet played Rochester. Perhaps this is part of some quest I haven't started. The base damage for this sword is 10,000. I thought that had to be an error, but it might be a special, one-use weapon I need to put aside for a specific quest. It starts half-drained and can't be recharged with the stones.
Breti left this mod unfinished - this mod, at best, is an open source resource pack.
it was intended to have a fetch quest to find the holy sword - think King Arthur legends. Probably best if you hang it your house, 10K dmg is too busted for normal gameplay lol
Even as a "Holy Sword" that's still quite a bit too high, like it would stop you from equipping it for being unworthy or something would take it away from you as you left the area. Might be worth lowering that to something more reasonable like 100. That's still far stronger than normally available items.
Im not sure if it was like this in LE as well - been a long time since i last worked on this remember that this was an incomplete project by Breti and left as public resource assets, and i do not have intentions to work or polish this further. It has free permission so feel free to do as you like with the mod
There is a issue with the stairs in house interiors. It happens at least with bauernhaus05 and bauernhaus06, the ones I tested, but I believe the others with this stair can have this issue as well. The character just take too long to go up the stairs, like his feet stucks on each step. Here are three images showing it: https://imgur.com/a/is409ap Besides this issue, the textures are quite good. It blended well with Strotis wall resource: https://imgur.com/UxLzxAh I didnt test the Rochester mod itself, only the resources. I'm also interested in this horse armor. I had some headaches recently trying to put my banners in Convenient Horses. I will test this horse armor later and see if I can put some heraldry there.
> horse armor: check down in the comments, there was an upload fix for that. It could help with your situation
> your textures: that looks nice! You should read all my pinned posts or description. This 1:1 port from LE (along with my translated eng esp) is free for use to everyone - so feel free to do whatever you want with the resources and upload. Im happy you can make use of it dude, and likely Breti too
> if i'll ever update/fix this mod, it's gonna be awhile if i ever find the motivation again. I've been hanging on to a patch update folder for months now - there's just so much things to fix in this mod. The GND textures for the armors, the various mesh/textures issues, some landscape/architectural fixes that requires CK, possibly more bugs, and maybe even dirty records in the esm. Too too much man...
I hate to Necro but that looks like a navvmesh issue. The NM should float on the outer edges of each step, but this looks like the NM is on the lower half of the steps.towards the back forcing the NPC to step further in to the mesh of the stairs. The stair stringer is a bit tight but that shouldn't matter if the NM is placed correctly on them. If anyone is still having this issue check the navmesh in the CK if you know how.
I have a question: did Breti made these pieces from scratch, or did he converted these resources from another game, and if so, which one? The piece on Camelot is very big. Any chance of having it divided in smaller parts? I found it awesome.
I don't understand why's someone publishing an unfinished job. Wait to finish and publish it afterwards. And since we need to "consider this as modder resources", why is it in the "New Lands" section?
hard to say, since Breti left discussions on the original mod closed...
The original classified itself as new lands, so that's what I labeled it as. I included tags and also titled it with "modder's resource" to make it perfectly clear as to what this is.
The original LE was updated to version 3 so we can guess that, at one point in time, many updates did come out eventually, Breti either encountered a motivation rut, or real life just caught up permanently. I can only imagine a project with once big goals like this being extremely time consuming and difficult to do
There's quite a lot of bugs if you were to try to just port this to SE, the files seen here are at the very least CTD free. Some people can make use it now, some already have. Any LE mod that depends on these files can now also be ported now and use these assets without possible CTD issues.

Rochester LE
But for God's sake!!
what a beautiful thing is this Mod.
It really transports me to the middle ages, all its buildings and huge forest space.
Thank you for making this possible and even You Sumugi who are not the author of the mod thank you for making it possible now in SE.
😀👍
A real shame that you no longer followed with this project, there is actually great potential in it.
Hopefully someone can resume your effort and restore what you lack to polish this beautiful mod.

Need hint/spoiler
LOL
Thanks

This does not work for me in SSE, there is no new marker and Rochester isn't marked, too.

he didn't seem to specify whether he found free resources online, or made them himself
