I like the idea but does this mod make every complexion more wrinkled? Because I would like the complexion on npc but not my own character or any npc who is very young!
There is always a blank complexion, so you can always have a young-looking character. The only complexions I made significantly wrinkled are the ones meant for older characters, but the blank and freckle complexions should still look young. That goes for your own character and NPCs.
I had that file in my folder, assumed it was either used in vanilla somewhere or added by some mod that edits races. So I just worked on it like the others. Uhh let me check the original mods and xEdit... you're right, it's not in the game, and it's not the mods I used to make this either.
o_o ... Okay, SOOO I don't even know why its there, but here's my best guess:
At some point while working on this, I probably couldn't decide if the texture I was currently working on was better suited to be "_age40" or "_rough", so I made a duplicate named "_age40rough" as reminder for myself to decide later. Then I stopped working on it for months, forgot, and much later resumed working as if "40rough" was part of the game all along without even noticing. Yeah, that sounds like me :D
By any chance, is there a possibility of a non-replacer version? Just more options for complexion?
Being able to have people who actually look like they're in their 30's-50's is great, but I'd still like to have some grandmas and grandpas walking about.
That requires an ESP, that would conflict with other mods that modify some character edit stuff, I had a mod on LE for better looking complexions, and the next step was to do that and then realized I had to add an esp.
It is from Capital Whiterun and it shows up in my racemenu. The original source seems to be TD18 Lore-Friendly Hair, which is an Oldrim mod but the comments suggest it works in SSE. (I haven't tried that yet, but now I'm interested.)
HMB replaces 4 of the 5 female-only complexions, none of the 5 male-only complexions, and 1 shared complexion (the blank one, which is found in the folder for males). This replaces all of them.
would your changes be preferable to mature skin? As it is included in HMB which is in a BSA. so your mod will overwrite the female ones. I got nothing for males though without mild complexions as skysight doesn't touch that.
I think so. But if you want some of both, just decide which ones you like, then delete any files in this mod which conflict with a preferred HMB texture.
I am opting to use this over the Mature skin included for these. Do you think they would also pair well with True Daughters or Barbarous Beauty from LE ? "Oldrim skin retextures by betterbecause"
The males look great, and the females look almost as good, but I'm considering changing something to give slightly more definition to female face details (either diffuse or normal map, not sure which).
I can't seem to find the mod on LOOT to change the load order, as i want to give my character frecles but i can't, and these are the best freckles i've seen for skyrim.
IIRC, LOOT is a tool for sorting the plugins of mods. This mod doesn't have any plugins for LOOT to sort. My guess is that either: 1) Another mod is overwriting the textures from this one. In this case, you have to sort these manually. 2) A mod has a plugin that changes the filepath for complexion textures. In this case, you'd have to edit, patch, or stop using that mod (if it's worth it).
I seriously doubt anyone could see the difference, but it is *technically* higher quality. It's a better resource for other modders and maybe screenarchers who take extreme close-ups.

Any idea why this would be the case?
