Due to the large volume of comments on my mods and the time investment to keep up with them, this comments thread is currently closed.

For feedback and discussion of this mod, head over to one of these:
If you are experiencing an issue:

    • Consult the documentation. Read the FAQ (if there is one) and compatibility notes in the mod description, as well as the readme (Docs tab) and the bug list (for LE mods, the bug list is on the corresponding SSE page to reduce duplication).
    • Install the correct version. Make sure you download the LE version (/skyrim/) if you are using LE, and the SSE version (/skyrimspecialedition/) if you are using SSE. If the other version is available, the mod page contains a link to it. Not all mods are available for both versions.
    • Check for conflicts. Check if there is another mod loaded after this mod that may override it and revert its changes. Some mods come with loose files that end up in your data folder, override other mods regardless of what order they are in, and may stick around after you uninstall them.
    • Make sure you have the latest version. Please do not report bugs that are already fixed.
Empirically, the above is more likely than not to solve your issue. Keep in mind that this mod is used by thousands of players without major issues, so if "the mod doesn't work" or "the mod is completely broken", the issue would likely be on your end and not actually a bug with the mod.

Validated bug reports and feedback are welcome on the above subreddit.

    Thanks for playing! <3

Now all we need is a lore-friendly quest mod to gain these ways of movement, and I'd download this.

There is no such thing as a lore friendly quest mod. Buying spell tomes is more lore friendly than 99% of the community mod quests.

lol no. i'm talking about the steering using magic as this is a really good way of turning, it would be great if the boats had havoc physics, meaning they actually move like a boat in the water.

Easy enough, though waterfall physics could get tricky.

It seems very complicated. The hard part is that handling any elevation changes requires physics. One potential solution is to use the flight system with altitude stripped out and the ground collision system inverted so you crash when you are no longer in contact with the ground, but I don't think this is what people want. They want to go over a waterfall, go "wheeeee" and splash down, not get flung out the instant they are no longer on a flat surface.

That'd honestly be more realistic though. Skyrim's waterfalls tend to be small, thin, or rocky, all very bad traits for boating. Realistically speaking, trying to ride a boat down one of them is going to flip you at best and get you violently crushed against the rocks at worst.

Oldrim has plenty of flying mods already, and people who are still on oldrim tend to not care about the need to get FNIS and SKSE for those. Also, my recent oldrim releases have been vastly less popular than SSE, so I imagine most people have moved on. I also have limited time and while I'm pretty sure you can backport mods easily, Arthmoor has flamed me last time I did, so eh.

the only flying mod ive ever seen for oldrim was your supersafe rocket boots mod, and this thing is soooo much better! i want THIS mod for oldrim!

also i have no idea what backporting mods is or how to do it. literally all i know how to do is click "install with vortex" and hope everything works itself out...

This is, unironically, the best fast travel mod I've ever tried. Flying Carpet hits all the right points.

    Small manual of flying :
    - Right button turns left and left button turns right... it's because right button handles left hand for spells but it's quite weird at the beginning and you need some training to get used to it. Moreover, the effect is not immediate, if you release immediately the spell for turning you will actually go forward ! You'll need also some training to understand how long you need to press a button to get the desired effect...
    - The forward speed for the disc is actually quite fast, contrary the up/down speed which is quite slow and there seems to be a max altitutde which is not so high, don't know if the max altitude is absolute or relative to the height of the floor below...
    - the spell is not expensive as are a lot of modded spells, at least the 1st one for the disc, and it lasts long, about 15 minutes for me, which is very convenient to reach far away targets
    - you can't display the map while flying, nor checking the time with the T key, nor accessing the spells, it's probably because if you change the spell then the disc disappears but this way you can't check your effects, don't know if there is an icon displayed by skyui when the spell is about to end, I didn't see any icon so far
    - the hard part is landing, if you collide with something, even at very low speed, the player is thrown in the air with ridiculous force, and you are very likely to die. So you need to learn to be cautious and to release the spell when appropriate.
    - flying is stuck in 3rd person view, oh well at least it looks nice and impressive !

All in all the spells require some training, but they are very useful, and fun, it would be nice to be able to change the vertical speed for the disc because it's a little awkward to use it to pass a mountain, but all in all very nice !

You can just pitch up while moving to climb faster.

Tried that of course, but it's still very slow, and quite awkward because it's hard to see the surroundings this way !

But really you should make it more "landing friendly" : in case of collision it just disappears instead of exploding and the player just falls verticaly instead of being thrown in the air, and maybe add some cushion effect for a few seconds so that there is no fall damage, but even without the cushion effect it would be much nicer to handle. Try to do some long distance trip in the mountains to see what I mean, from the college to the labyrinth for example, chances are you'll have to cross some mountains in a storm which means you have a very short vision, if you hit anything while flying like that for now you are dead, it might be a little too unforgiving...

Exploding makes no difference to fall damage. Fall damage is based on starting height vs landing height no matter how you get there. If you blow yourself into the stratosphere and drop down into the same spot, you take 0 fall damage.

Also flying when you can't see anything and crashing into a mountain isn't an issue with this mod, just like riding your horse off a cliff in a storm isn't an issue with the horse mod.

Greetings. What level do I need in Alteration to get the floating disc to show up? I'm at the Mage College for the seller doesn't have it in his inventory. I'm level 20 in Aleration.

Edit: Nevermind. I need to be an Adept :(

Are you planning on adding a flight power that doesn't include a disk or carpet? I have the Animated Wings Mod that doesn't have flight with it, because I'd need SKSE and FNIS, which no longer work after a Bethesda patch recently.

As you said, animated wings require SKSE and FNIS, which are unsupported.
